Good question but we are at a stage when that is surely appropriate...

I like messing around with the spreadsheet and seeing the different rankings each player could be.

Those poll results are the most optimistic we've ever had for a GS - no one thinks worse than SF and 54% think champion! Only 11 voters though...

With Del Potro lost yesterday, I am glad that Andy is now certain to retain his 4th place.  Davydenko can only get to within 30 points even if he wins the tournament.

It is interesting that if Andy wins against Nadal, he will get to within 350 points of Nadal and even overtakes him for 3rd place if Andy can get to the final.  Let's keep hoping.

For Andy?

If he wins the title he'll be ranked 2; if he's the losing finalist he'll ranked 3 (behind Djokovic and ahead of Nadal); and if Andy loses to Cilic he'll be ranked 4th.

Federer will be no.1 whatever happens.
If Murray loses to Cilic, he'll be no.4 below Nadal and Djokovic.
If Murray wins but then loses in the final he'll be no.3 below Djokovic and above Nadal.
If Murray wins the tournament he'll be no.2 above Djokovic and Nadal.

For people interested, here's what can happen with the rest of the top 10:

Del Potro and Davydenko will definitely stay 5th and 6th respectively.

Roddick will stay 7th, unless either Tsonga or Cilic win the competition, in which case he'll be 8th.

Soderling is currently 8th, but can be caught by both Tsonga and Cilic, both by reaching the final (so he could end up anywhere between 8-10).

Tsonga and Cilic finish off the top 10, but could each rise as high as 7th, as mentioned above (Tsonga could end up anywhere between 7-10, Cilic could end up 7th, 9th, or 10th).
