Realistic chance he could drop to #7 before RG if matches go against him. Soderling's defending nothing and Davydenko/Del Potro should stay even at worse providing they are reasonably fit, his grass points should mean he stays in the top 4 for Wimbledon but the USO is less certain given that he seemingly has to reach a Wimbledon final to gain anywhere.

He must play Monte Carlo if he wants to remain in the top 4.
He is playing Monte Carlo, he got a wild card...

Daisy, there won't be much movement. Nadal has gone back above Murray, and Soderling will stay 7th unless Roddick wins Miami.
Is there any interest in a rankings tracker spreadsheet for the clay and grass season (similar to what I made last year, but it seems I'll have to include more players this time round)?

Thank you for the info Yamor .... speaking for myself, and if you have time, I'd love it if you made a rankings tracker spreadsheet for the upcoming two seasons

Points, schmoints... who will step up to the mark? Dead exciting, I feel...
So pleased for Roddick - he's suffered a decline, but so still wants it. Hope our Andy can do the same.
A lot of players have the fire in the belly - be interesting to see how it all pans out..... Berdych is up and coming, also..... His confidence must be on a high, despite losing in the final.

I'm looking forward to seeing of del Potro has lost the bottle - I hope not, but he has to be a very dark horse for the forthcoming tournaments.

^ I often wonder what the scenario would be if Fed were not in the picture. But, tben again, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle....
Shall we just put out a contract on Fed?

Hmm ... I'm thinking that there has nearly always been a dominant player ... (I can hear the patter of tiny feet arriving on the scene to correct that statement).

No, I don't think this. There was always a shiver of excitement in previous finals. No way did one prevail so dominantly over the other. We expect one to win a set, at least.

Here's some info on dominant players over the last 20 years, as at the beginning of each year, which explains the continuing GOAT saga:
1990 Lendl
1991 thru 1992 Edberg
1993 Courier
1994 thru 1999 Sampras
2000 Agassi
2001 Kuerten
2002 thru 2003 Hewitt
2004 Roddick
2005 thru 2010 Federer

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

Think you have to give 1999 to Agassi - two slams and a Wimbledon final.

This list was not from memory, but from the ATP website, so I just posted what they listed.
