I would rather Murray Win Wimbledon this year beating Nadal and Fed on the way than be No 1 for a week or two because Nadal got knocked out early or some other combi that Neil mentioned. If he wins at Wimbledon and doesn't play Nadal and Federer on the way there will always be a few idiots that say he didn't deserve it.
Andy will be no 1 and soon but more important at the moment is to focus on Wimbledon the no 1 ranking will come naturally at the right time.

With the anti-Scottish contingent who frequent Wimbledon, which members of his own entourage have been exposed too in the passed, I would be quite happy for Andy to take a two week holiday and never set foot in the place again.
For myself anyway, the being number one in the world is of far more significance than taking part in a tawdry tournament that highlights the very worst in elitism and class division within these shores.

Wimbledon is hardly like that. Just the media portray it that way. Strawberries and pimms anyone? etc etc.
I'll be waving my Scottish flag on day 1. Alas I fear I'll be too high up to be featured on any TV coverage. But who knows, I might get interviewed on the hill before hand!

Queen's IS like that though - is Wimbledon any better? Genuine question, I've never been to Wimbers - I guess it's less exclusive than Queen's so the chance for more normal people to get in is greater.

Are you going to Centre Court? That is going to be so different. Will everyone with Centre Court tickets be hoping for rain?

I'm thinking there should be a MURRAYSWORLD FLAG and it should be obligatory to wave it whenever a MURRAYSWORLD MEMBER attends a tournament - that would save Joe looking out his Fairy Wings again ..............

I’ve provided evidence in the past that the Wimbledon crowd would rather support a German player over a Scottish one, I’m not going to go over old ground again. A nice miss calculation to the power of ten in the equations for the load bearing structure for the roof causing a catastrophic failure on this shower of middle class women’s institute post menopausal face panted hoards would be no real loss. Oh and if the royal box could be filled with some of the whore mongering parasites at the same time that would be the cherry on top. I wonder what I’ll do with my other two wishes.

What an excellent idea, Daisy. Al 1864: To a certain degree I understand why you have this opinion - but do you need to be so vehement about it - that's really sad. Wimby is a British institution and may have been elitist once but now it's fun for all and Andy will most definately have a tremendous degree of support. It's not as informal as other Grand Slams but these days that's part of its uniqueness.

200 points less than last year for a final spot, but a Murray v Fed final would pretty much guarantee number 1 spot for the winner. Murray would overtake Rafa 20th July when Queens points replace his Indy zero-pointer. Also the Olympics points drop off August, so Murray would be well placed regardless going into USO SO MUCH AT STAKE!
