What is wrong with reporters? The Scottish Paper's headlines are 'Murray battles into the 4th round' whereas the others have more favourable headlines.
Exactly! I was wondering the same thing...and then they follow up saying ''The Scot looked sharp as he disposed of Lu Yen-Hsun of Chinese Taipei in straight sets to reach the next round of the BNP Paribas Open.''

I have just re read Andy Murray Champion again. A good read as you say the press are terrible. It just reminds us of how hard Andy has trained to get that first slam he was on the verge of thinking he would'nt win one. It took a lot of courage to carry on as he had been in four slam finals. No doubt about it 2012 was his breakthrough year and I was so happy for him.

Federer out in QFs. He will lose 820 ranking points this week (and a further
90
45 next week, although Andy defending 600 in Miami).
Gap down to just 365 points. Murray becomes #2 if he makes final. Still, a big ask with Del Potro and Djokovic in his path. But a significant change here.

Murray will also be #2 seed in Miami, which should help him defend his 600.

Thanks Mad Hatter for the maths Opportunity knocks on Murray's door again with Federer's departure; please may he grab the chance and knock out Del Potro. Perhaps the BBC will wake up to the fact that there are some men playing tennis at Indian Wells not just women
I shall be sitting up for this one no matter what time it commences.

You're right, although in the larger scale of things it means almost nothing. Forgot R3 in Miami was only worth 45 points.

Ah - thanks for that. No, I'm not a great film buff. With the exception of Clint Eastwood, I don't really do movies,

So if my math is correct, on Monday the ranking scores should be
2nd Federer 8715
3rd Murray 8350

If Andy really wants to overtake Federer in the rankings and indeed prevent anyone else overtaking him I suggest he enters more tournaments, cuts the everlasting "training" and gets a bit of match practice
