No I haven't Tessie. Maybe I should but I don't know to go about it and my GP isn't the most helpful person on the planet when it comes to that sort of thing. I have though been wearing a magnetic bracelet for the past four years, and I'm sure it has gone some way to easing the pain to the manageable level it's at now, i.e. that I've reached the stage where it's sort of become part of me, if that makes sense, so most of the time it's in the background.
Re the bracelet, there is strong evidence to suggest that magnets can help the pain of osteoarthritis, although not cure it, because they improve the flow of blood round the body, but I'm quite prepared for scepticism and being told it's all in the mind. I was very sceptical myself but after about three months realised that the pain was starting to ease a little. However I do accept that what benefits one person doesn't mean that it'll automatically benefit somebody else.
Like you my aunt had to give up sewing and knitting until she was introduced to hot wax by a hospital physio. You can buy home ones and she uses it daily and after just a month is sewing and knitting again. Only for short periods at the mo but it's getting better. She is also relatively pain free. Will find out where she got it and pm you the details if you want me to.
