Fed now above Murray in 5th.

Fed must think all his birthdays have come this week with Andy, Rafa and Stan all out early on his side of the draw.

There is no doubt that Federer is a one off  I'm just hoping that this particular spell of birthday celebration is short lived

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

No sooner are we talking about the Djokovic-Murray era than we're suddenly back to Fedal again. With so few points to defend, Fed could be up to number two by the end of the summer.

He should be 6 in the official rankings, but will drop to 8 in the liverankings.

The good news is that he can't drop lower than 8 in Miami, as no 9 (Isner) will be more than 1,000 points behind.....

I think live is when they've taken off the points for the coming week so he has already in effect lost the 1000 Miami points but do correct me if I'm wrong someone as I don't really understand the rankings.

Have faith Angie - yes it is still early days and there's plenty of time for Andy to return to winning ways before the final 8 for the 02 is decided.

Liverankings take last year's points off at the start of the tournament - then add points on with each win - get updated continually.
Official rankings are updated on the Monday after the tournament - so last year's points taken off and replaced with this year's at the same time.

So Official ATP - Andy will have 4795 points tomorrow, Liverankings 3795

There will be 2 phases where Andy can pick up points, the coming clay season up to Queens and then after Wimbledon up to the end of the year.

Considering many think he may find his form during the red stuff especially during the FO i don't think we should overly worry about.
