Despite missing those serves, I'm glad he went for it.

Didn't work then, but did in Montreal. I think this is how life will have to be in this match-up, taking risks to give himself a small chance.

@nikko - I do know what you mean and feel the same way - although I'd prefer a win to a drink, but if this continues much longer I might well resort to the latter!

I put these DFs in the tiebreak down to nerves because I think Andy really wanted that set, but maybe wanted it just too much, so he got tight.

A win- then a drink to celebrate!

Next time Andy take over the win, I'll take over the drinks, that's for sure !!!

No, I think he was playing the percentages on the second serve, and lost out.
Fiverings, I'm not sure to understand what you mean by "playing the percentage". Can you clarify ?

Haha ! Hopefully next time, probably in IW, you'll not have to resort to the drink. Or if it's the case, at least for the good reason !

Well basically he knew it was a  shot with a reduced chance of success but worth the risk.

Thanks !
I understand. If it's really what happened I wonder what has motivated Andy in this decision ? Did it really worth the risk at 0-0 in the tie break ? Maybe. I'm not a top player at a grand slam final so these things are surely out of my understanding.

One of the most "stoopid" comparison of all time...

and another comparison which not so stoopid. I'm not a fan of RM after how he treated Caroline W but nice to read such praise of our Andy from him

As far as I understand it, I think these two have had a mutual respect for each other (as sportsmen) for a while now.
