I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

If Andy makes the final in Cincy, he'll go ahead of Dimitrov and get a top-8 seeding for USO.

I've been thinking it would be kind of interesting to see how Djokovic or Federer would feel about getting him in the fourth round...;-)

They wouldn't bat an eyelid. Andy is no threat to them on current form. If Andy is, as expected seeded outside the top 8 seeds for Flushing then he'd be seeded to play a top 8 player in the last 16 and when was the last time Andy beat a top 8 player??

But they are probably savvy enough to know that Andy's current form is not necessarily the form which will appear at the USO.    Did Novak expect Robredo to knock him out in the 3rd at Cincy?

So if Nishikori beats Raonic and Murray loses to Tsonga, he's out of the top 10?

Yes, but if he beats Joe he'll stay No 9. Then he has no points to defend for the rest of the year, so should start to rise up the chart again.
It would be much better if he won the USO for a second time then who cares about the rankings, 3 time GS winner! Sounds great.

oh dear that's a dilemma as would always want Kei to beat Raonic.   Think
Still we should know by the time of their match whether Andy is guaranteed to stay in top 10 (unless the weather plays complete havoc with schedule).

actually tbh I'm more concerned about the race than the rankings over the next few weeks for totally selfish reason that I want to see Andy at 02 having so missed him last year.  I'm sure he'll go back up the rankings next year even if not this though of course would be good if he started the climb back now.

Absolutely Ruthie he is so close at the moment but he needs to get a few more wins under his belt O2 is not a lucky tournament for him but I would like to see him win it once before he hangs up his racquet

and given that I think it's only at 02 for 2 more years unless they manage to negotiate a further extension, which seems unlikely, it would be such a shame if all of Andy's British fans couldn't see him both those last two times.
