Wow just look at his results these past two years. It's incredible really. In my mind he is clearly one of the greatest tennis players that has ever lived and without a doubt by far the greatest British tennis player, even with only 1 slam title to his name so far. His talent and skill is simply remarkable and outstanding. He's such a joy to watch as well, by far the most entertaining player to follow.

Bugger the rankings. To my mind, he's now the best player in the world.

Isn't it ironic that Murray achieved his highest ranking (2) in the only year in the last five he didn't make a slam final?

Expect a tennis revolution now. Probably mainly in Scotland. Especially with the Rangers thing taking the focus off football.

I think he will get to number 2 before Wimbledon next year.

With a good showing at the WTF, he could be number one this year. Regardless, after a Wimbledon final, an Olympic gold and the US Open title, he's clearly the best player in the world now.

I considered him the best player in the world when he won the Olympic Gold. I certainly felt he was then and is playing the best in the world now.

I hope he does really well in the WTF, I consider that a really big tournament and another special type of victory you can achieve because of it's uniqueness. I feel like he has underachieved in results at the WTF, there has certainly been some amazing matches and very close games though there, it's one of the best tournaments to watch.

He's 3000 points behind Djokovic and 2000 points behind Federer in the YTD rankings. Some work to catch that up, let's be honest.

I have feeling he will over-take Djokovic before Wimbledon to take no.2, but I don't think he will reach Federer just yet. His best shot at being world no.1 will be after Wimbledon if he does well and Federer does badly.

What's to defend at the WTF? Not much.
