I can't remember, but wasn't it Petch and Barry Millns who commentated on the Shanghai final? I don't think it was Cowan.

That's right, I didn't think he was commentating as such.

I agree Barry Cowan is not a friend of Andy's. I like Peter Fleming and Mark Petchy they are very fair. Andy if he has a bad match is always rubbished by Cowan but hey you can't win them all.

Actually, neither player has any points to defend since the WTF 11 points were taken off today. So the points that you posted are equivalent to the points for 2012 only.

Yeah, you're right. Wondered why Fed's had depleted so dramatically.
So, what has to happen for Andy to overtake Fed?

That won't be possible until next year. If Andy wins all his matches (1500 points) and Fed gets nothing then it'll be
Federer 9,465
Murray 9,100

Hang on, don't you get 200 points for winning each round robin match, too?
Say, Fed broke his leg in the first match and Murray won all five matches...

Yes you do but the "1500" number includes them.
Each RR match = 200
Semi win = 400
Final win = 500
So an undefeated champion would receive 200+200+200+400+500=1500 points.

Yes, remembering Andy didn't have any WTF points to lose.

Yes. 1500 points which is very good for winning 5 best of 3 matches averaging 300 points per match, a higher average than a GS win (2000 points in 7 best of 5 matches)
