Based on live rankings Andy no.2 but Ferrer 3, Nadal 4, Federer 5 and that's how it'll be after Wimby unless the SmugOne reaches the Final

Credit to Ferrer for gatecrashing the big 4

Isn't it 1 Djoko, 2 Andy, 3 Fed, 4 Ferrer and 5 Nadal? 1 and 5 will stay the same but 2,3 and 4 could swap around.

Amazing really that Berdych at 6 is more than 2,000 points behind Nadal, so he can't catch up even if he wins the tournament!

That's right - the live rankings website take off the Wimbledon points before the tournament starts, so that's why Ferrer was moved up to 3 and Federer down to 5. Though there's a very good chance that these will be the final rankings after the tournament is finished provided Ferrer gets at least to the QF and Federer fails to win the title.

According to The ATP Nadal is leading the race to Londonand Nadal has already qualified. They are ranked in this order:
  1 - Nadal
  2 - Djokovic
  3 - Ferrer
  4 - Murray
  5 - Federer
  6 - Berdych
  7 - Tsonga
  8 - Wawrinka
  9 - Gasquet
10 -  Del Potro

http://live-tennis.eu/race reverse the positions for Tsonga and Wawrinka and the figures are slightly different. Note that the Joker and Andy have both played nine tournaments, Federer 10 and Ferrer 14.

Oh I'm getting confused! I love the live ranking site, but it does come up with some strange figures sometimes, especially on a Monday! It doesn't seem to have taken last year's points off yet. Hope it will all make sense tomorrow

So what Mackem said is right.... Sorry!

Yeah - the Live Rankings site at the moment hasn't taken off last year's Wimby points so, currently, it's got both last year's and this year's - bit confusing.  I'm sure they'll correct it soon.

My main point is that Ferrer will probs be no.3 after Wimby AND he has hardly any points to come off for Olympics, Canada or Cincy so won't be dropping back anytime soon.  Also, because he plays so many tournaments he has several currently non-countable points available if needed.

If Djokovic wins Wimbledon now he'll go back ahead in the year.

weird isn't it that rafa has qualified and now must be big question mark over whether he'll even be able to play as beginning to look like those knees can only cope on clay and indian wells type hard surface.

Ferrer could overtake Murray and Federer to take number two. Murray is currently on 8560 points, and defends 1950 points at Wimbledon and from the Olympics. Federer is on 7740 points and defends 2450. Ferrer is on 7220 points and defends only 360.

It's a very distinct possibility. If Murray doesn't make the Wimbledon final, there's a great chance it will happen.

Ferrer has been playing a lot of matches. Will the duracell batteries last?

More incentive for Andy then.

Shows how rankings are distorted. Ferrer's great and all, but he's basically a 250 vulture.

I wouldn't say that either, but I would agree he's not no.2 in the world material by any stretch of the imagination.

Andy missed RG and the clay season didn't go well, which distorts things. I'm in no doubt he'll get back on track. People around here stressed about Ferrer last year and it came to nothing. Andy will be fine.

He's just incredibly consistent against those below him. He's always there to step in and make the semi-finals/finals of the big tournaments when one of the big four gets upset. He deals with it so well.

Obviously aided by Murray missing RG and Nadal missing AO and USO as well, which do distort things somewhat.
