Been expecting it I know but Andy down to 5 in the Live Rankings.  Sure, we all know the reasons why - just a bit galling to see it.  Unless Andy does better than most of us expect in Oz he'll be seeded 5 for IW and Miami.  Then of course, he's defending 1000 points in Miami.

It's some compensation that Frauderer is down to 8!!

Really pleased that RF is falling towards his true position. Just because I find him arrogant. We have to accept he is no longer the top player he once was! Good but.........?

I think that you have to allow Andy three months to work towards being back in the top four. He will still need to rely on others having some early exits. The AO might help if he has time with Lendl to get his brain focused. Delpo has started with good bonus points. I still feel that Andy should have gone to one of the southern hemisphere tournaments to gain some points and some match practice. Exhibition matches do not seem to help him too much as match practice is about learning to win again. He never seems to care if there is no benefit from winning those.

Unless Ferrer has a disaster in Oz then there is no way Andy can move up from 5 by March. That way does he play earlier in the USA events because he is outside the top four? Top 4 or 8 with byes? It might help him? That is a long way away. He still has DC (if he plays) and Mexico on hard courts now to use to prepare for events in March?

Don't forget, Andy will be playing in Acapulco.  He should gain some points there, so long as he's allowed to count them.  I know the ATP ranking rules can be a bit harsh if you've missed tournaments.

Unfortunately the seeding is the reason the draw is so "bottom heavy."

I see Ferrer was beaten in Auckland SF so it's possible he won't do well at AO.  No idea what his draw looks like.

I'm trying to forget seeding The important thing is that Murray recovers fully from his operation and is pain free
When that happens he'll sort out his ranking position no problem Meanwhile I'm very pleased he feels fit enough to take part in the Aussie Open

Hey guys I went on this site for the WTA live rankings. They didn't have an ATP site until now. I find them really useful. The worse ranking Andy could fall down to is 8 after the Australian Open. Smile

Can't access it. It comes up and then goes straight into ads? Looks good if you could get at it.

Del Po at 3 right now, Murray at 5 on the live rankings, with the AO points off.

I can get it OK but trying to figure it all out is doing my head in. and the white print on the black background doesn't help.

^ Yup! Official rankings are a bit like age - it's only a number, it's how you feel that counts (or in this case how you feel about Andy)
