He has said that if he does not go far into this tournament he will not be concerned as USO is his target.
Exactly. Where did you hear/read that?

I cannot remember but it was sometime on Monday. I think he was meaning he would not be down if it happened.

No expectations. A practice match is right. And if he does win and has to face Raonic I don't think we should read anything at all into that match if Andy loses, as must be quite likely in these circumstances. Still what a treat to see Andy playing again so soon. Watched the 1st set of THAT match again last night. Had planned to watch the next set tonight but that will have to wait now. Unfortunately as recording a day's tennis has taken up about a third of my hard disk, with hardly anything left now, I'm going to have to delete it but surely there will be a dvd of it?

So, these 2 have never met on an ATP tour but have met in a futures match I believe. Andy was 17 and Flavio was 21. Andy won.

Yeah, not too concerned about this week. Should just use this to get a feel of the hard courts again. Nice if he goes deep into Cinci for ranking reasons.

Hi All,
I have to be honest and say I know nothing at all about Cipolla, other than I didn't recall him playing Andy before, so it's good to see some details about him. On the surface he probably has little to trouble Andy with really, but you never know, do you? These qualifiers can be pesky!
Seriously though, as long as Andy is okay physically and emotionally after his wonderful Olympics I can't say I'm that bothered about Toronto. It would be nice if he could go a couple of rounds at least, just to get the hardcourts back under his feet and continue some momentum, but it would be understandable today if there is not a lot left in the tank to go to. Equally, it wouldn't surprise me much if Andy is still on a high and comes out flying, but if he does I will decide he is superhuman. I mean, a wonderful Wimbledon, an utterly stunning Olympics, a beautiful gold (and silver!) medal, which involved quite a bit of tennis, and now jetlag, he should really be out on his feet....though I hope he won't be.
If he gets through today we'll see about Raonic. He can blow hot and cold, but I haven't seen much of Toronto yet this week, so I haven't seen him to work out which way he might go. An off day would be good.
Anyway, first things first, the Cipolla match. Just take care of yourself Andy, that's all I ask.

Yepp, Delpo lost the 1st set and Cilic took1st set off Baghdatis.
It'll be a toss up for the guys that have just played in London.

If Andy wins today, I am going tomorrow to see him. In that case, I'll have to plan so many things. Well anyway, let's see what happens today.

It seems Del Potro is going down to Stepanek. Will be back for Andy's match later.
