Raonic has one asset - his serve. If that breaks down he has nothing else in his tank.
Players of his ilk are boring to watch.
I completely disagree. You don't get to where he is with just a big serve. His baseline play is very good and he has a pretty big forehand that causes the most damage. His return isn't bad too. His serve is his biggest weapon but he's far from a one-trick pony.

there's a record function PT - it explains how to do it in your instructions manual. I don't have recordable dvd so can only do onto video and it takes ages. But perhaps it's quicker with dvd.

Hi,
What I need to do, is to change my TV to AV1, and then set my DVD recorder to AV2, and then press record. I have also got a video recorder, and two games consoles connected, so you might need to fiddle with your AV's to get the right one. When I have the TV set to AV1 the screen is a little less sharp, which tells me I have got it right. On those AV settings I can control Sky and the DVD recorder. Hope it works.
Thanks Ruthie, thanks Maska. I will look at the manual and also try what you advise.

Will give this one a miss given the timing. I think we have to accept it's quite possible Andy will go out because his body has to give up at some point
Hmm actually are we over-egging this tiredeness thing a bit? Andy had a 3 (or was it 2?) week break after wimbledon. He then played what was basically a Masters tournament with no long matches. He had a few days rest before yesterdays match. Why should he be tired?

Andy just needs to hit everything to Raonic's backhand. Andy should win this in 2.

Skybet have Andy has 15-8 ON. Raonic is 11-8 against.
Incidentally they also have Andy joint second favourite with Fed to win the US Open at 7-2. Joker is the favourite.

Why should he be tired? He's just played how many days tennis in a row, dealt with massive media interest and flown across the atlantic. He's had no time to adjust to new surface and climate. I'd be tired even without the week's tennis. Honestly athletes are human you know.

Avoiding my being a schoolmaster; Didn't you mean to say: "Why shouldn't he be tired"?

The Royal Mail are painting a gold post box at Wimbledon in Andy's honour.
Cant find a photo just yet.

I found the picture on Google and saved it, but can't seem to paste it here.....probably because I am at work.

What a lovely interview from a very chatty Andy. A smile on his face, animated and everything. He may have been tired but on a chocolate high, or maybe just feeling happy. Thanks for finding that and sharing it.

Because he's not had a few days rest, he's had about one (and that spent trying to adjust to the surface). There was two days between the final and the Toronto 2nd round, and he spent one of them flying.
He also has to deal with switching to a new surface, having had about a day to train. That's not easy.
Then there's also the emotional side, which you would imagine would also have an effect (from the elation of winning the Olympics to playing in front of a few hundred fans against a guy ranked #96 in the space of three days). Although with Lendl there and Andy's new-found mental strength hopefully that won't have too much effect.

Andy has every right to be tired in every way for goodness sake.
The players coming in from London all are.
I do wonder how tired Raonic might be as well.
He did play the longest match in olympic history after all ending with a loss against Tsonga at 23-25.
He's had more time to recover however.
Andys return game will take care of Raonic & I would personally prefer he won this than Cincy.
Either way I'm relaxed about the outcome.
