I despair that Andy will ever be able to serve well, but where there's life there's hope, and Andy showed plenty of life today against a very tricky opponent.

You know what I think? I believe Andy will be able to serve much better once he bags a Slam and confidently so. That's really and truly what's holding him back. Once he gets that kind of confidence where knows that the worst days are now behind him, I am sure he'll be able to play uninhibitedly and relentlessly once he used to and even more. It’s just the road to get there is the hardest for him and he has good reasons for it.

Sorry but this is  cobblers. Andy played great on clay last year and it was noticeable how he was aggressive with good length on his shots. He played well today 1st and 3rd sets but seemed to be a bit passive in the 2nd set.

Ive still a feeling last year was a bit of a freak. Andy was clearly the worlds 4th best clay court player based on results last year. This year its looking like more of a struggle and so far Andy is probably around 10th best. I hope I'm wrong though and hopefully Andy can shock us all win Rolland Garros!

omg he won  Very Happy  just let me take a minute to take this in   wohoooooooo yay  I guess it was another roller coaster  also he was 3-1 down in the third set  shocking  Andy is a fighter   clap  clap  well done Andy.  so happy.  gonna look at the Andy match now.  I love Sky plus!!!! Very Happy  I did say he was going to win and I was right  the only reason he won was because I wasn't watching him lol. Very Happy  just remind me on Thursday not to watch Andy  ok  lolol

Anybody spot the cameras kept showing Gabriel Heinze and Fernando Gago (Roma and Argentina players) in the crowd.  Might be why the fans were getting behind Nalbandian a bit more than Murray.

And those are ...??? (apart from what we know already)

As far as his serve goes, he's capable of serving perfectly well, it's the inconsistency that's the problem.

That was a good win for Andy,it would not have been quite as much of a nail biter if the first serve had been working but there were some great rallies.Just a thought that came to me during the match.... Novak's game face is like an eagle or perhaps a slightly manic predator, Fed projects his belief that he is entitled to win as he is the GOAT, Nadal shows intense concentration and total focus but I have difficulty describing Andy's game face. Any suggestions to help my aging brain? confused

  Interesting thought - I guess primal power which is itself a disguise ( counterbalance?) for sometimes overly detached analysis which can hinder his reflexes. Shrug

No. The original settlers or invaders if you like were Spanish but from the 18th century onwards there has been a heavy influx of Italians to the point were Argentina really is more Italian than Spanish. Its a complimentary mix really as they can be described as one of the best looking bunch of people around. But so many of them have Italian as well as Spanish relatives, names and ancestry. And no Latinos don't all hang together at all on the basis of a similar ethinicity.
