Ugh, Djokovic and Simon both break within seconds of each other. Damn.

Thanks, I voted the way I felt about it when I just logged on. Thumbs up along with Old Scot this time!
If the person who does not like exclamation marks is reading this. They do not mean the same as shouting.
Of course not. Shouting means this:
I WANT ANDY TO WIN GOD DAMN IT!
Exclamation marks mean you are excited!
And Andy wins in straight!

That was quick, didn't even realise his match had started yet.

People are probably following it on the Rome thread elsewhere on the board but for anyone who isn't aware, Monaco and Djokovic are currently 3-3 in the final set (Monaco took first set 6-4, Djokovic hit back 6-2 in the 2nd).
Djokovic has looked so much more beatable in the clay season (Dolgopolov, Nadal, Gimeno-Traver, Tipsarevic, and now Monaco) - how much is that do with his grandfather (still affecting him?) and how much is it do with mentally (having to do it all over again)?
With Nadal also far from his best, and of course Andy struggling for results on this surface,
this really opens the door for Federer at Roland Garros,
or perhaps a big surprise package going far into the tournament - the likes of Ferrer, Del Potro, Berdych, Almagro, Simon, Raonic, etc could find themselves getting all the way to the Semis. Then again as with every Slam, Djokovic and Nadal will probably find their best stuff again (they have a habit of doing that) and it will be yet another Djokovic/Nadal final. Berdych's going to be the big threat, I just hope he's not in Andy's quarter. But the way life goes, you just KNOW he will be. Tsonga would be the ideal QF opponent - been out of sorts this season and struggling on the Clay.
Not only at RG but everywhere unfortunately. Andy should be on it because this opens the door for him as well. Nole looks spent already and Nadal looks a bit jaded, so there’s no better time than this.

Hmm no idea. Simon broke, then Ferrer broke back, now Simon has broken again for 6-5 lead. If he can hold then you've probably got till 2.45-3 Uk time. If Ferrer breaks and it goes to tie-break, who knows

Could be a little while longer. Simon just serving (again) for the 2nd set.
I see the Nole was pushed to 3 sets in his match and then flexes his muscles at the end

Ferrer has just broken Simon's serve. Both players suddenly incapable of holding their own serves it seems. My money's still on Ferrer to win, but whether in tie break or 3rd set I don't know.

He really had to dig deep, it was tough conditions, doesn't seem as back on the court Murray's going to be on but was really back on the centre court, looks of dust everywhere and the wind swirling

Think Ferrer will take tie break but don't hold me to that. Away to grab lunch in case
