I know I'm totally sad, but I've recorded a lot of tennis matches and interviews over the years. It's great in the off season to replay Nadals debut at the Monte Carlo masters etc, and Roddicks first appearance at Roland Garros when he was all arms, legs and heart.

I am pretty much pc illiterate when it comes to saving stuff, but is it possible for someone to make downloads of the clips on various websites? I would be really grateful. I have no idea how to do this, or even if its possible.  Embarassed

Obviously you all now realise that the term "Get A Life" was invented for me  Rolling Eyes , but in my defence I do have to spend quite a bit of time resting, due to illness. Watching tennis is my preferred way of passing the time.   :P

If you recorded it onto DVD, you would need to convert the video to something the average PC media player can use. So you would most likely convert it to DivX or Xvid where the size would be reduced significantly due to the compression, then you could upload it for other people to download. However full match replays would take up a lot of space and would be expensive to host. Oh and I havn't done it before so don't go asking me for a 'How to'.

Now get a life!

I didn't mean whole matches. I've got a DVD Recorder for that :P

I meant the 3 minute clips they post on the BBC and Sky websites!

What exactly are you asking?

Do you want to know how to convert your recordings so it can be put on the web, or are you asking if you can take clips from other websites and put them on your own website for others to download?

A lot of sites won't let you save the video clips eg BBC. (copyright I suppose) The usual way is to...

right click, where you would normally left click to play it.

choose 'save target as'

save in a windows document.

If  'save as' doesn't come up, when you right click, you cannot save the clip

Maybe someone else knows more!

Thanks David. Guess that's my attempts to save interviews cobbered then.

:P

My own website, Mark???? You obviously dont know how completely ignorant I am of computer stuff. It's taken me 3 years to navigate the net and simple things like uploading photos.

I assure you I wouldn't have a clue how to set up a website. For which I'm sure stray surfers will be eternally grateful. Very Happy

The bbc generally distribute their stuff as streaming real media files, which isn't designed to be downloaded.
However, you can Smile A program called (I think) StreamDown records real player files to mpeg, so I'll try converting some and uploading them.

Alternatively if anyone knows what kind of time tennis highlights are on any freeview channels I can put them on the net.

Good to see you have registered wombleme!

If you do upload any Murray videos, any chance I can have permission to use them for a video gallery I plan to make? (obviously I can give you credit)

Yeah! Thanks for that wombleme. I know people did video clips for programmes like American Idol, so I was sort of hoping someone would do them of Andy's interviews. It sounds far too complicated for me to master.

But if Mark could do a video gallery, that would be great.  Smile

(I'm attempting to make DVD's of as many of Andy's matches as possible, but I seem to have lost the Wimbledon ones )

Must search for them. Rolling Eyes

I've put a couple of videos up now: Andy Videos

So far its just the interviews with Andy and David at wimbledon converted into a smaller file format.
If anyone has any links to other online videos I can use? Otherwise I'll just start taping them digitally when he next plays and put them up that way.

You're very welcome to use any videos Mark, credit would be great Smile
