Yours and Rob's rivalry is hilarious. It will be a shame when it comes to an end in a Rob ban.

Yeah in November.  I think Andy is best man.

Courage doesn't always roar - but wins Wimbledon

First and foremost I hope Andy forgets Wimbledon. It's done now, there's nothing to be gained by dwelling on it. The bit of Wimbledon he is allowed to dwell on is the first four matches he played. He played very well, period.

I still think Andy's confidence is tied up with his fitness, so getting fully fit and confident again is important, but I don't want him overdoing it in Miami and arriving in Toronto knackered, so he needs to be sensible.

A tournament win would be nice. I'm sure Kim would consider allowing the mankey vase into the house this year, should winning Cinci be an option, but the Toronto trophy is nicer.

A strong showing at the USO. Dare I hope for a win? We'll see. Tied in with that, please schedulers, not too many matches on Armstrong. Me nerves wouldn't stand the strain!

A strong Asia swing. Winning the Shanghai Masters again would be nice. Andy always plays well there. Two wins and a final to date, so fingers crossed.

Getting the ranking back up a bit would help, and it would make me happy Smile. That would help with qualifying for the WTF.

Once there, and I'm sure he will be, a strong performance at the WTF. That would lay the foundations for next year, the year Andy takes the tennis world by storm again, and we get to hear Petch almost bursting blood vessels during matches.

Things working out with Amelie if Andy wants her around. If there is an issue in the team, getting that sorted, even if Andy needs to remind them who is boss.

Today is the 7th of July 2014. 1 Year ago we were in ecstacy. Today i'm going to spend remembering that day by re-watching the final again, and also watching the awesome documentary from a few weeks ago.

Who knows, i might even find time to watch the USO final too Smile

Looking forward to the rest of the year. Andy's been written off so many times by plenty of people but has always come back stronger and proved them wrong. I refuse to believe he won't do it again.

Andy basically needs to improve his confidence level this year. I also think that whilst physically he is moving well and recovering well... I feel he could improve his strength/power. To me, understandably given the recovery process set him back, he looked less muscular in build than when he won his major titles. Hopefully in the training block he can offset that and build himself up to better physical level. He has said he will focus on that and his game weaknesses ...so hopefully that provides a greater confidence level. Ultimately , full confidence will only be attained by beating the very top players in the game at important events... something he has struggled to do since wimbledon win and especially post surgery. His drop in rankings is very fixable....but also on the edge of being a major issue. the lower the seedings the tougher it gets to win generally

He has some big decisions to make re: his team. Whoever he chooses has to take him forward and improve .... because all the top players are improving. ..Otherwise he'll be left behind...something Andy has always shown an awareness of in his career.

I'd quite like it if reporters mentioning Andy's slip in the rankings would remember to mention that is partially down to missing a whole load of tournaments for surgery, and not just 'lack-lustre performances' since he came back.

I suspect the press are making a bigger deal out of Andy's loss at Wimbledon than he was.  Of course, it was terribly disappointing, as he'd been playing so well, and he won it last year, and it looked to be the mark in the sand, demonstrating he was back on top form.  In that respect, it had a little bit more meaning than if he'd had a regular season, and happened to be defending champion.

However, as Andy said almost immediately after the match, he needs to look forwards, not backwards.  I feel bad to say it, but I'll be glad once the Wimbledon hype is over this year.  I'm normally happy for whoever wins, but the nastiness from certain quarters about Andy's exit put me right off.  It was almost as if they were so used to the angst of whether or not a Brit could win it this time, that they couldn't revert to normal coverage now that it has happened.

On that note, my other request is that everyone remembers that Andy is still the reigning Olympic champion. cmon yeah

For the second part of the year I would like Andy:
1. To have the settled Coach and Team which inspire him to keep improving himself physically, mentally, emotionally, technically and tactically - to consistently produce his best tennis.
2. To stay injury-free

With these, improvements to his game, greater confidence and self-belief, and the results we're hoping for - will follow.
Fingers crossed for the rest of the year.

Yes! Happy 7th July!

That's a good one matchpoint.  So long as Andy stays injury free, everything else will take care of itself.
