Rewatched my DVR'd version of today's match, I thought when the match was over that I should have kept count of how many returns Andy had to hit to win this match. Ferrer kept returning and returning, just like you all say like the Everready Bunny.... never thought of him that way.
Andy earned every point he won today, and just once did the camera catch him saying the F... word. But then maybe he was saying focus, but I don't think so. I would like him to find a different word, as that doesn't portray him as the classy guy that he is.
Does it seem to you all that Andy has changed a lot during this Asian Tour? He is calmer, more collected and playing very smart. Definitely not letting his anger get in the way of his shots. He seems more determined. Maybe he needs to forget about winning a slam and just give himself attainable goals, and as he reaches these goals like he did today, go on to the next goal. He is good enough to win a slam, and he will, but for now focus on other successes.
You know some Nadal fans that I know of were saying to me that they were happy for me when Andy beat Nadal, but Nadal just wasn't playing, poor boy he is so tired from playing so much tennis. Hello, I believe Andy played in all the matches that Nadal played in.....they make me sick. Also, I read where a tennis writer said that Andy was playing well, however, Djokovic and Federer weren't playing. I wrote him back that the way Andy was playing he would have beaten both of them had they been playing.
Thanks again to all of you for keeping me up to date on matches that I can't see, so glad I found this place.
And to Andy, thanks for making my three weeks a time of celebration, have a good rest, enjoy being home, you deserve it!! Can't wait to get to the office and let them know you are #3 and that you won in Shanghai!!
