Shanghai QF : Murray v Ebden

Reply

Murray has had some luck with the draws in 2011, hasn't he? Very Happy

That said, you can only play who is put in front of you. Ebden has had a magnificent tournament given he qualified for the event. Haven't seen much of him, have read that he is a workhorse and has a solid game but perhaps lacks a killer shot.

Murray in 2.

Sadly he can't get lucky in the only rounds that matter.

Am I the only one who has never heard of Ebden?  I thought I might recognise him when I saw his face but no.

I don't know anything about Ebden either, and I hope I don't find out too much about him tomorrow. Some other time will suffice!  Rolling Eyes

It is 1 pm (BST) time according to my conversion.
2pm for me in Oslo. UK is 7 hrs behind Shanghai currently.

I think he's the one who lost to Djokovic in the Wimbledon semis.

I've seen the name but know nothing about him. My friends, we are just about to find out tomorrow!

Murray in 2.

I wouldn't have said that Andy's draw was lucky last week - his half was much more difficult than Rafa's.

Sorry Stell - that was Tsonga, but Ebden did play at Queens where he was knocked out by Nadal in R2.

Ebden has only qualified for a Slam twice - the AO in 2010 and 2011 - and on both occasions went out in R1.

For anyone interested here's the link to Ebden's wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Ebden
