yeah...had many colds in my time...and ive both worked through them...and played rugby and soccer with them in winter. i dont feel great... but its generally called ..growing a set...there are tougher things in life.
cough does not always = flu like illness.....only hypochondriacs would have you believe that
Um actually, colds can be really, really debilitating-and I'm also speaking from experience! And yeah,of course working through them is something you have to figure out a way to do most of the time, but sometimes they can make you feel too rotten to do that 100 %,and the reason people are concerned is that Andy plays a sport in which physical fitness is paramount, especially at his level.Even tiny things being wrong can make a great deal of difference in his sport.Someone figuring out a way to go to school,or a job that doesn't require a great deal of physical activity through a nasty cold which has them wheezing is very different than Andy having to charge around a tennis court with it.
I didn't,unfortunately, see the match or the media stuff afterwards,so I can't give my personal opinion on his appearance health-wise,but from many comments-and not just this site-it does appear he was, very noticeably, coughing and wheezing a lot.So while we shouldn't jump to conclusions and start panicking that illness is going to mess everything up for him,I certainly don't think it's unreasonable to express a bit of concern about him.

Thanks dani and don't worry nooone has been panicking. Just noticing he clearly isn't well and hoping that doesn't take the edge off his performance, which as you point out it could well do and as I said in my previous post affects the head as well as the body and Andy plays best when he's thinking clearly on court as he himself suggested recently.

Murray in 2 sets. Stepanek will tire early and Murray will bagel him in the 2nd set....

Ah,thanks Ruthie-I didn't really think anybody had been panicking,I was just trying to show ABF where people with concern were coming from-that it was actually valid, rather than just hypochondriacal notions! That's a really good point about colds affecting the head-sometimes they don't even have to be badly affecting you physically to slow you right down in your thinking and make you foggy, and that's one thing Andy really doesn't need to be worrying about!Yoikes, the little things that can make such unfortunate differences...
Ahh well.Andy and his team are just as aware of all this as us,if not more, and Andy won't want to mess around with his health.I suppose we're just going to have to trust to them that they know what they're dealing with and what they're doing!

I'm disappointed that no-one thinks the world is going to implode. Almost feels like a silly option to have included now.
Although it's as likely as Stepanek winning in 3 sets apparently.

I did think about checking that option TMH for a laugh, but Presbyterian Duty prevailed. Not silly though - it would be equivalent to a Stepanek win.

Well he did cough and obviously has a cold. Even the media noticed and commented so it's not only his fans who have eyes in their head and could see him coughing and spluttering. Andy didn't make a fuss the same way we didn't find out until yesterday that Andy was sick in Tokyo.
Can you link me or tell me where that was posted?

I remember him dating Martina Hingis but he's married now apparently.
