Mod NoticeMoved discussion from DC news article and added the video.

But it also gives him some time on court before the singles (assuming he has a bye) which is no bad thing given he's not played competitive tennis since DC.  I hope he won't do it at Cincinatti as well given the conditions there but I think it's a good idea here.  And I like him playing doubles because it gives him more practice at the net.  So I'm ok about it in this context.
yes i agree with you to Ruthie,( but i can see what oss is saying ) it will be good for Andy. Apparently Andy is on to nights the night bbc1 6.40 tomorrow (sat 6th aug ) surprising a fan, so i have been told.

Great idea to start a separate thread Mark as more likely to alert members who are not following the thread it was on originally.

I have been watching European clay...absolutely NO substitute and I kept wondering why they weren't in USA preparing there. eg Lopez was playing on clay this week, is now in Canada! Why?

I was wondering exactly the same thing bbh as I watched Verdasco lose yesterday evening.  I thought anyone with serious pretensions to going deep into the USO would not be playing around on clay in July.
