How was it misinterpreted? He did say 'some Murray', no?

He may well of said that, but not intended any offence. You must understand different languages dialogue can mean totally different things.

Here is what a Polish reporter I know said about his comments:

he probably wanted to empathise DC means a lot to him (he also said he'd like to play hopman cup with aga) and compare it to beating a top ranked player, and since murray was the only one from top he had beat, it sounded this unfortunate.

I doubt Jerzy intented to offend with his comments, I don't see any thing wrong with him being more passionate about DC then beating Murray, espescially considering he's patriotic.

You can definitely express your love for your country without taking someone else's name. Because not only it does not make any sense as to why anyone would even mention someone else’s name in order to emphasize his love for his country, but also, it shows disrespects to the other person who had nothing to do with it in the first place.  So why couldn’t he just say he truly loves his country and would do anything to have a chance to play for his country to show his love and dedication towards his country. Does that show any less passion? No. Sometimes it’s that simple.

In Barcelona, Carreno Busta (WC) beat Robin Haase 6-1 2-6 7-6 yesterday.

Plays Bellucci (16) soon, after Nishikori's match.

Bellucci won eventually, beating Carreno-Busta 6-7 6-3 7-5, in 2 hrs 43mins, so it can't have been easy.
