I was having trouble sleeping last night so got online around midnight and Raonic and Tipsy were 3 all in the 3rd set. It was a good match but Tipsy's first serve was mostly off and the 2nd serve was rather weak. Even a poor returner like Raonic was doing very well on those weak 2nd serves. Tipsy’s groundstrokes though were very on and he was very gutsy at times especially on some very important points. The TB was very unfortunate for him. Got even a matchpoint though wasn't on his serve but anyway, eventually went on to lose the next point and Raonic basically served it out.

I got to see the first 3 games of Andy and if I didn't have such a busy day today, I would have most definitely watched the whole match, but unfortunately it was already 1:30am and I finally became a bit sleepy after that. Though Andy broke Stan's first game, he had trouble holding his own in the next game. He netted quite a few first serves and I thought his timing was slightly wrong with those ones. Half an inch lower than he should have hit I thought but he finally held despite those poor first serves. Stan looked sharp after the first game I agree.

I was so thrilled to see the results of Nishi vs Berdych this morning. Really, really wish I had seen this match. Had a feeling about it but still, to demolish Berdych in straight sets is so good. And Andy won’t have to put up with Raonic and Berdych back to back. He had enough of that at the USO just about a month ago. Tipsy would have been really, really refreshing for Andy but oh well. Will have to put up with Raonic one more time I suppose. Don’t really like this match-up all that much.

When I went to bed I knew that Andy's match would be the next match on but was too tired to stay up, plus work calls for a clear head, one with sleep in it, but not to happen.  I went to sleep and woke up and wondered how Andy was doing and hit the app on my phone to find that he had won the first set, but was down a break in the second.  So I would close my eyes then open them and check my phone for the score only to see him lose the second set.  Well, I had to watch the third set, send good vibes, help however I could (my daughter says I'm obsessed) so I laid there watching the phone, saying cmon Andy to myself till he won that third set.  It was then 2:30 arghhh, so today the head is not clear and I'm drinking a lot of coffee. yawn

I worry about Raonic's aces, but we all know that aces alone do not win matches.  So well done Andy.....keep the wins coming!

Recorded this match to watch this afternoon....(finish at 12.30)and didn't listen to the sports news on the radio driving to work.
Got to around 10.30 before some numpty said ,"Andy won in 3 sets"
Suppose, it could have been worse if he had lost.
