As I cannot find my post I think I may not have put it on.  Last night when I woke up to turn over (have to do as hips are really bad now) I realised what it is I do not like about Milos.  He reminds me of Federer and his smugness.  The baby face can get to one but I think he will turn out a little bit smug in the end.

The other thing is that Andy has played 19 or 20 sets since playing Milos at USO and Milos has only played 9.  Do Milos must have been fresher and had already been in Asia much longer to adjust before competing.

I don't like the way Raonic plays but I think his demeanor is superb.
Huge servers like this will always be very dangerous, especially in best of 3.
Also if this had been a slam match am convinced Andy would've gone the extra mile, but for a 500 no
@ Big Nose
Andy has had cortisone injections in his back. Fact. His back is not OK.

Nish just broken Raonic in the 3rd, I said he will likely win this: he's been playing the best in the tournament. Everybody seemed to think it was a cert that Raonic would go on to win.

Oh wow what play by Nish here, 5-0 in the 3rd. This guy is showing what he's capable of now, stunning play and interesting to watch. This guy looks like a young Andy Murray with play like this.

Absolutely agree. That was a fabulous 3rd set, such fantastic shots. And Raonic bagelled - who'd have thought it!

Just remarkable play 6-0 in the 3rd, broken Raonic 3 times. I wonder if he's ever lost a set 6-0 with the serve he has! Nishikori will be absolutely huge in Japan now after people watching this tournament. He has a lot of capability and variety in his shot-making, his two handed back-hand is great and the returning was some of the best I've ever seen that match. I have a feeling he somewhat looks up to Andy as well, it seems like he's actually styled his play a little on Murray.

Just watched the last 2 games. Delighted that KN won, particularly given it's his home town. Putting Raonic firmly in his place with a bagel was a nice bonus. Well done to KN.

So pleased that Kei won, he has so much talent. It must be a very special feeling to win your home tournament too. Smile

Crazy how for two finals in a row at the Japan open, they've gone 3 sets and the winner bageled their opponent to win/

Great match!  I am delighted that Kei won.  It just shows that serve is not everything.  It is odd that Raonic can only keep winning for about 3 or 4 matches against the best players.  Kei has said that Andy's win at the USO has inspired him and you could see that today.  Reminders me of the way Andy usually plays.  I notice just like Andy he did not keep Brad as his coach and I believe for the same reasons. My feeling is that Brad likes his players to do exactly as he says which became evident in the interview with Lendl recently.

As has been said strange coincidence that last year and this the last set was 6-0. I think Kei has a better chance of doing really well than Raonic as he has a better toolbox.

I would love to see Kei push in Grand Slams next year. Of course, I'm not expecting a win from him but consistently reaching the quarter finals would be a great start for him.

Nishikori is 1000 to 1 to win the Australian Open, at youwin. Just wow that's crazy odds because if he plays like he did this tourny he could win a slam, of course it's not very likely at all that he will be in this sort of form again and keep it up for a whole slam but still at 1000 to 1 it's pretty good betting odds.
