Brilliant on-court interview. So genuine. When asked how he would mark himself, he said 6 or 7 out of 10.. but that he beat a tough opponent and got the job done.
Love the crowd's reaction to his Gold Olympic Win! And love Andy's reaction to the crowd's appreciation.
Pure Gold!

So pleased he won-and relieved. He was shaking his head at his box a few times. Hope he's not got an injury.Lovely on court interview_he always gives credit to his opponent unlike some we could mention.
A bit of an ugly win but a win nonetheless.
Well done Andy.

Straight sets win despite peaks and troughs, he will know what he has to improve. Right come on MW let's send positive vibes to Mr D Young now, it is his time to shine (lol)......

Hi All,
The win is the thing. Sure, straight sets doesn't tell the story, but seriously, stuff the story! He won, he's through to the second round, he got through in straight sets. I'd be more worried if he'd dropped a set because that would have kept him out there longer. Today he got the job done pretty handily in the circumstances.
Credit to Bogomolov for putting up a fight too.
The first serve percentage was dodgy from Andy, but agree with Petch, he returned really well. I have to say, consensus is he'll be fine, and I agree. You don't want to go playing your best too early do you? He has a long way to go our man.
My overall feeling is that Andy was nervous today more than anything. I think he'll be fine. That cramp or whatever scared the life out of me, but I'm sure he'll be right in the next round.
