Is anyone guessing the approx time Andy will be playing?  8pm -9pm Uk time?

I'd say about 8-8:30pm.

perhaps now Andy plays closer to the base line than he used to the lack of run back will trouble him less?  I'm quite sure he can overcome such petty tribulations mp - the point is why should he have to when the other top players (one of which is seeded lower than him) don't have to?  I also think Ferrer has cause for complaint as he is not treated as 4th seed.

Courage doesn't always roar - but wins Wimbledon

Funny thing is Andy players better on quicker courts of Shanghai, than he does on the slower courts of IW and Miami.

Judging by what Andy has said, it's not so much the court speed, but the short run back and the crowd feeling very close that makes him feel uncomfortable, more so than on Ashe.

I have a feeling Andy played Cilic on Armstrong when he knocked Andy out in 2009. I'm not sure about Wawrinka the following year, but in my head Andy wasn't feeling well that day and that contributed to the loss.

I don't fear for Andy so much against Mayer. I also think Andy is playing with confidence. However, I was sure Andy was going to beat Lopez easily last year and look how that went, so we'll see. I must admit though, I'm not anxious at all, so hopefully that's a good sign.

Ruthie I think you're right. I'm actually quite dismayed at the lack of respect shown to both Andy and Ferrer, both of whom are ranked considerably higher now than a certain other player.

I can imagine Ferrer fans are pretty pissed off.  OK he's not one of the 'fab four' but he is no 4 seed and has been near the top of the game pretty consistently.

Btw does anyone know if rain is forecast for today or can we be pretty sure of seeing Andy 8pmish?

I've got brain ache already!

With Monaco and Almagro gone, Andy's draw has changed a wee bit. I had a feeling it might.

I wonder if Nadal and Berdy could be persuaded to lose????

Oh I am a terrrible person!
I am a terrible person as well as I was thinking the same thing.

So does Jamie Hampton

Hampton is a very good player, but Sloane and Serena are better.

Hampton has been working very hard and I can see her beating Sloane.  I'll be rooting for her.

It will be a tough match, but again Sloane is a much better player come the Slams.
