Andy has beaten him twice, on clay (last time, Madrid 2013) but not played him on hard court.
I dont see much of a problem here for Andy, but I hope for a good quality match.

PS: Andy in 3! cmon yeah

That last time in Madrid was tight, but Andy got it done in two tie-break sets all the same.

On hard surely Andy would have the advantage. Doesn't Mayer favour clay?

Mayer's game is a bit quirky, but Andy seems to handle the foibles of opponents quite well. He's got a few tricks up his own sleeve.

Andy in three.

voted Andy in 4 just to be on the safe side though I think Mayer is the kind of player Andy is particularly good at outfoxing.  I saw him play Nole at Wimbledon and just wasn't good enough to threaten Nole but did play some very good tennis in patches.

Hopefully now Andy will have seen the last of Louis Armstrong for this year and the years to come.

Handy Andy - it's an odd-numbered match so it will be 3 sets :-) What? Makes perfect Murraycoaster sense.
