A rest day on Sunday after the semi finals.Whatever will the US Open do next
Must help whoever is in the bottom half of the draw in the final
Come on Andy
Call me Mr Cynical, but I think the day of rest on the Sunday is as much for insurance if a match should get interrupted by rain on the Saturday - it could then still be fitted in before a Monday Final.
Yes I suppose you can say it will help the bottom half. Having 3 matches on 3 consecutive days for them, rather than 4 on 4 has to be a help. But they're still at a disadvantage to the top half, with Rog & Djok able to put their feet up today.
Am wishing Andy the best of luck - really hoping he can pull this off.

I think the back to back nature of this match will certainly help our Andy. His match was really like a pretty easy Masters match whereas even though Isner didn't go to 5 it was much longer and I don't think he's nearly as fit as Andy anyway. If Andy gets abit sloppy like he did in 2nd set yesterday it could go to 4; otherwise I think he should win in 3 as he knows how to move Isner about.
Yes I think of Isner as younger than Andy but I think it's mainly the baby face that someone mentioned.
The BBC comms' view is that it was probably Rafa putting his foot down that made them change the final day. I imagine our Andy was lending his support too as both of them have been pretty vocal about the fiasco this tournament has been and about the need for changes. The comms pointed out that it can't have been a coincidence that the organisers did a U turn and announced it would be Monday so soon after the top players went public with their anger about how things have been handled.

Hoping Andy will come out with all guns blazing and that his 1st serve is working better. Think Andy will win in 4. This is going to be a nervous game to watch, I just know it is.

I'm always nervous when I'm watching Andy's matches because anything can happen. Sweaty palms, racing heartbeat - the lot - but it's so worth it!

I was always like that too, but during the last two matches my pulse rate has hardly risen. There is just something different about him this year and I have every confidence in him.

I really hope you're right Araminta. If he gets to the final though I will definitely have to have the gin on tap!

That's interesting, because I've felt too that there's something different about Andy now and feel less nervous than I used to feel. Of course that doesn't stop me yelling at him when he does something stupid! However, should he make the final here I think the men in white coats would need to be summoned!!

Although I didn't feel so nervous yesterday I sure did in the Haase match! And I think I will today unless Andy is able to stamp his authority on Isner from the outset. If Andy does make it to the final, I won't be able to watch as in London unless the BBC is showing it, Does anyone know if they will? I was in Canada last time Andy made the USO final so dk if BBC showed it - it was very interesting watching with US comms.

Ok Andy.........Step 5.......John Isner! As I said the other day, there are no 'easy' matches at this level! However, 'Big John' will be more tired than you from his match yesterday [so proud of you for despatching your opponent in double quick time], also, being big, it'll take him longer to recover! Just take him out as fast as you can and remember.......the bigger they are,......the harder they fall! Good luck Andy.........Go get'im son! C'MON!

Nyssa, Isner started later as a pro. Think he went to college first.
Yes, you're right. He chose to go to university before going pro. His baby face keeps throwing me off, age wise. Of the mid-20-somethings, I think he looks the youngest.

Come on Andy Murray - "slay the giant" ........ Isner must be wrecked after that match yesterday - he was bent double at some points. Andy has to stick with him - Isner won't be able to keep up his intensity of serving if he is suffering any side effects from yesterday. Run him from corner to corner and land the ball on his shoe laces just like in Aus 2010. Best result I can wish for is a quick three setter for Andy with Mr Magic coming to the court - then a slog-fest between Rafa and A-Rod. If Andy can get himself to the SF I really think he has a great chance of downing Rafa. I also really think that Djoker looed a bit spent last night so if he can just make Fed go five long sets then lose - everything goes Andy's way - re-match of the 08 final but this time Andy avenges his defeat!!! Okay I am getting carried away - as Andy would say one match at a time. Come on Andy this is your year - the whole of Scotland is rooting for you. Come on Mr Magic you can do it.

Thanks BevC for the great pictures. It's so hard to work when Andy is playing. Listening to the radio broadcast while trying to to get work done hehe well most work gets done once match is over.
As I was driving to work this morning I was listening to the news and they were talking about a possible unconfirmed threat to New York on this 10th anniversary of 911. I thought about all the people at the Open and I hope nothing comes of this threat. Extra police and dogs are being used.
Good Luck Andy Mr Magic!! Good vibes to you, May the Force be with you.

BTW has anyone wondered about all the opponents of Nole who retired while playing him during the Open?
