Great match.

Llodra had a good feel of Andy's derriere at the end, there.
Dirty man.  He's got a wife and 3 kids too.

What an entertaining match, Andy played brilliantly, so few UE's great winners, only a slight blip early in the 2nd set but even then it didn't feel like anything to worry about, and that last game with Llodra serving underarm, priceless!

Couldn't have gone any better, he looked really sharp despite the humid conditions, the rain stayed away and he got the match over and done with pretty quick, so no worrying about playing tomorrow.

We were mentioning Andy playing late, imagine poor Sloane Stephens who's match started just before midnight.

Didn't watch I'm afraid but did hear the last few games on five live as woke early and couldn't get back to sleep.  That gave me the advantage of hearing Martina talk about Andy.  She was SO complimentary.  Said something like Rafa may have the numbers but in her book Andy has been playing the best tennis this year. She thought it impossible to choose at present between them and Nole to win (though also said can't count out fed yet).  The winner/ue stats are pretty amazing.  Looking forward to watching it later.
Here's the BBC report on it.  Apparently Andy was asked whether he'd prefer to play tues or wed and he'd said tues and then given wed and then told it would be wed afternoon and surprised to end up in the evening.  Still he got the match played, which is the main thing.  From what I heard at end on radio sounds like he had good support - a roar went up when interviewer mentioned his win last year and then again when he thanked the audience for staying late.

tj they're showing at least an hour of it on sky at 8am (and I think eurosport has longer highlights so they might show the full match) and again later I think and if there's more rain I guess they'll show it properly.  I hope my box recorded the whole thing - I think it must have done as it recorded about 5 hours.

Sorry to have missed this, but an early start this morning, and after a few late nights, it just wasn't possible.  Pleased to hear all went well, and it was another entertaining match.

Just watching BBC Breakfast, and they say because it was played after midnight, they aren't allowed to show any clips.  Whistle

Thought Andy played well for a first round slam match. He looked like he was p'ssd off with the scheduling before he started. Understandable. Slacked off for a little while .... mid match. My only concern was that he looked very tired at the last set....breathing very hard. maybe humidity.

Well done Andy .....next!

What a match, and Andy was certainly the crowd's favourite, and he gave them a great show. I stayed up for it and woke up at 8 am and just going to have my breakfast, feel like a zombie, will try and have a nap in the afternoon. yay
