Dustin Brown is relatively new on the circuit, not through virtue of age, but merely through to his progression as a player.

Saw an interview with him, looked relatively laid back, typical Rastafarian look, dreadlocks. Wouldn't be surprised if he plays in flip flops and smoked a reefer at changeovers.

Murray in 3, can't see Brown having any sort of weapons to hurt a player of Murray's calibre.

Think it is to be on Friday - same day as the fringes of Hurricane Earl is supposed to hit Long Island!

Meh, I don't know how hard/if Earl will hit NYC. I know we in Rhode Island are supposed to get several inches of rain Friday night. The way they're projecting it is like it's hitting New England on the coast.

I voted the joke option, but under the premise that he tactically chunders on Murray so they both have to leave the court.

I vote they both walk off the court, and do a lap of honour in Flushing Meadows, drapsed in the Union Jack.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Dreaded Dustin Brown is ready for Great Britain's Davis Cup call

Heard the one about the prospective Great Britain Davis Cup player with dreadlocks who was brought up in Jamaica and curses himself in German?

Dustin Brown is no ordinary tennis professional, as he proved on Court 18 on Monday with a display of such eccentric shot-making that it was easy to forget that he actually lost to Austria’s Jurgen Melzer 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

As a first-round loser, he makes a perfect fit as a Briton, homegrown or naturalised. As a player, he fits into no category yet devised.

Unfortunately, an eccentric player like Dustin has the potential to get under his opponent's skin.  Could be wrong, but I can see Andy perhaps getting a little rattled and as a result temporarily losing his focus from time to time.

The pair have never met but still shouldn't miss the opportunity to show Andy without a shirt Whistle and Dustin has some of his own too yes

Looking forward to this match, actually - hope it gets the night session slot on either Armstrong or Ashe.

Oh yeah Little tongue man Very Happy

Yeah there was an interview with him at Wimby and I was impressed with him and it was good to hear from a player that works week in week out at the tournaments, and needing even a few hundred to then pay bills to get him to the next one.
Don't think Andy will have much trouble with him but hopefully Brown will step up with his best and give us interesting tennis but with Andy going through in 3 straight sets Smile
