Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Looking forward to it too.  I see Nole is playing at night tonight so perhaps that means Andy will tomorrow night? If there's any justice....

Andy deserves a night spot.  He described yesterday's conditions as "brutal", so they must have been really bad.  Understand that the heatwave is coming to an end, but it'll probably still be quite hot.  Also what about hurricane Earl?  I've heard this could cause problems on Friday.

I swear he said it wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be.

"I managed to get through in straight sets so I'm pleased, but it was a lot tougher than the score suggests," said Murray.

"Everyone in my box always tells me it's a lot tougher watching in the heat than playing but I'm not so sure. They were brutal conditions."

That's what was widely quoted in the press yes, but -

Andy Murray column, 2nd Sept

It was quite an uncomfortable start to my US Open because it was very hot on Arthur Ashe Stadium, but the result was good and so was the time spent on court.

I think it was actually tougher when we were warming up beforehand on the outside courts because it does get quite breezy on the Stadium court in particular, which helps cool you down a little bit.

And what would our Andy do without his beloved Fantasy Football?

From the weather forecast, it looks like the tourney will be affected by heavy rain on Friday. Frown   Time they got a roof on Arthur Ashe.  I'm sure the USTA can afford it.

I think Arthur Ashe Stadium is too big for a roof to be put over it.

Just beat me to it Allan Smile So I'm thinking Clijsters in 2 for her match and so Andy on court by 2.30-3pm their time, so 8pm our time? Sound about right anybody?

Don't think the heat will be an issue tomorrow, getting his match finished before the rain arrives, might be however.

Rolling Eyes I knew it wouldn't get scheduled for before 12pm. Still pretty good for British viewers I guess although he might complain about wanting a night match soon?
