He also told Djokovic's parents to shut up during one match in a previous year.

He said 'Be quiet.'
That improves matters...not as rude as 'shut up'.

I do remember the Serbian contingent getting a few complaints a few years ago. They did have a tendency to get a bit overexcited.

Remembered that the deadline for voting is tomorrow,so I went a little voting nuts-I have 6 e-mail addresses, and I voted for Andy 3 times-from each of them
If he doesn't win,at least I'll know it won't have been down to my lack of effort lol!
But in all seriousness folks, this is an award where anyone can vote, unlike SPOTY,and being voted for by fans means it'd be a really nice one for Andy to win after the long years where there was so much undeserved hatred towards him.It seems to me you can vote multiple times from the same e-mail address,so let's all get busy voting for him while we still can!

Why so surprised? I think this was open to worldwide voters, and Fed is the face of tennis to most people.
I'm sure if you asked anyone on the street to name 3 tennis players, the first name they would say is Roger Federer.
It's just how it is.....for now.
Although it's small comfort, I see Andy was 2nd. That means he beat all the rest, and there are some very good ones.

Well if Andy was 2nd over Rafa and Nole that is amazingly good.
Indeed I think we should have it as a news item.
I fear smugfed will continue to rule ok in such votes until he hangs his racquet up. But the sportsmanship award pisses me off too. How does he get away with it year after year? He has a kind of hypnotic effect on those who decide these things.
