I think he has the potential to make top 3 although I'm not sure about no1 spot whilst Federer is still in the game.

Yep, im with Mark.
At the rate he is going now.. and at the level he is playing.. i think there is definite potential to make it top 5 - possibly even 3. I'm doubting number 1.. while we've got Federer fiering out, Nadal - although on and off.. he's still there.. and Roddick - always a threat!  Think
Of course im not saying that he can't make number 1.. but i just don't see at present.

Fed will be 25 in August (if im not wrong...) OMG time flies  shocking

i think Nadal will get back into the swing of things soon.. he'll be back before anyone has a chance to knock him back down to where he started!!
And although Federer is no Pistol Pete he's one of those guys that wins and will keep on coming back and doing the same. It's the higher "class" of tennis players.. who master the game from head to toe like the greats.

You can't say either way whether he will be number 1 or not. He may well be, or he may not ever get into the top 10. Lets see him get into the top 40 and then the top 30 etc first before we talk about him being number 1.
IMO, if he does aswell as Henman has, then he would have had a bloody good career.

There's a lot of guys roughly the same age who are going to be around for his whole career and they are also more than capable of being ranked pretty highly. Nadal is only a year older and is already the 2nd best by quite a long way, then theres the likes of Gasguet and Monfils, both only a matter of months older than Murray, and not to mention the likes of Federer, Roddick and Hewitt who are not exactly old.

Post Federer we must turn our attention to these young guns-

Andy Murray
Rafael Nadal
Richard Gasquet
Novak Djokovic
Marin Cilic
Donald Young

Barring Andy, Nadal is the most talented of the lot but as he is injury prone World No. 1 may elude him forever.
Gasquet is a true three courter (How many people reach a clay Masters semi and win on grass in the same year?) but he is terribly inconsistent on hard court.
Djokovic is only a week younger than Andy but has not shown even 50% of the commitment Andy has shown.
Cilic is one talented player and bt Andy in 2005 French Open Juniors semi, but it is too early to predict about him.
Last but not the least comes Donald Young, the future of American tennis. He is not just talented but also very lucky to be born in the USA. Although he is only 16 he has benefitted from 7 wild cards at senior tournaments(he lost all of them though). But how can one predict something wonderful from a person who is only 16?

So calculating everything no one but our dear old Brit is the favourite to be No. 1 in three years time! Good luck Andy.

Especially Richard Gasquet, he was only 18 when he reached the top 10 (or something like that). I have a lot of respect for him.

I do think Andy can get top the top 5, number 1 is possbiel, I don't exclude that. 2008 will be his year, in my opinion.

With Fed around Murray won't be number one. He does have top 5 potential though - he's probably the best of the young guns, pehaps Gasquet has an edge over him, but only on certain days as Gasquet is looking like he's going to be inconsistant.

It all depends on how Andy plays the Grand slams and the Masters Events, if he can get seeded fo Wimbledon I think he can end the year inside the top 20.

Andy has improved lots since even his last match against Federer, He played a good match sometimes even roddick or Nadal can hardly keep up a good scoreline with Federer i think he could actually beat Federer somewhere along the line this year or next Top ten perhaps at the end i dunno it's hard to guess this sort of thing
