I assume Hoy is mistaken when he says he hopes to see Murray play on Saturday?

Hoy takes in atmosphere of SW19

I'm pretty sure he's not allowed to play in the womens final... but then again, they let Serena play and Mauresmo play...

Got a feeling it could be a private joke about Pascal Maria, one of the ATP umpires, he pronounces it exactly the same way.

If Murray wins Wimbledon, the Fedfags cannot bash Murray's easy draw to try and take credit away from the victory.

Taken from MTF, these are the players Federer had to beat to win his first Wimbledon:

Hyun-taik lee(55)
Stefan Koubek(70)
Mardy Fish(45)
Feliciano lopez(52)
Sjeng Schalken(12)
Andy Roddick(6)
Mark Philippoussis(48)

Extract from today's Sunday Telegraph - from an article by Mark Reason 'It's not love but 'Saltire Andy' has won over Middle England'.

'Murray is starting to come across a good deal better than Roger Federer. The Swiss may have set a record for hours of media interviews, but he is not quite the untouchable that he once was. When Federer wept after losing in the final fo the Australian Open a few people shuddered. He's allowed to weep tears of joy when  he wins. But these losing tears were tears of self pity. There was an awful lack of dignity about it all. Then there is the matter of the Fed's increasingly ludicrous outfits. This year's purser's suit is the garb of a man who has lost touch with reality and is being swallowed by self-image. It is all just a bit smug, just like some of Federer's post-match interviews this year.'

Despite being labled 'morose' and comments such as 'Why doesn't he smile? in the press recently there are those who appreciate Andy's reserve, his modesty re his chances and the way he 'plays himself down' - there's nothing complacent about him, he doesn't brag about his chances now or in the future - just 'I hope...' or 'I'm working towards...' and suddenly I think the public are beginning to warm to him.
It's about time!!! Super thumb up yes

It's going to be a very hot second week and I wonder if Murray will handle it better than most thanks to his Bikram Yoga.

27c for today's match and 30c for the QF.
