Maybe, if they got going early doors it would give the guy a boost.  Shrug
Andy has always said how much he needs and appreciates the crowd support on occasions like this.

Andys supporters were sh*t scared. Thats why they were quiet.
Surely they couldn't all have been that scared - or maybe like myself and a lot of others, including Andy, realised from the outset that this match was going to be a real toughie, not helped by the fact that these two hadn't play each other for so long?

ATP site reports a 'heroic comeback'. I like it.

There is truth in your comments Aileen, but I think Andys real supporters must have been having kittens! Realising that he could go out if he lost the 3rd, or 4th set. Like THE END to all our Wimby dreams. It certainly makes one nervous when you have to start thinking about dealing with the afermath.

It's just sport of course,  but we are passionate about Andy Very Happy

The mind doubts, but the heart never does.

It was thinking about the aftermath that really got my nerves going, especially in the 5th set.  How Andy would have reacted to losing after such a gutsy fightback didn't bear contemplating and that went for us fans as well.  I don't think I've felt so nervous since the USO.

Look at Garry Richardson's wiki page.

^ Richardson should count himself very lucky that Andy showed such commendable restraint.  He sounds a total twat anyway and doesn't present a very good image of the BBC.  Hope they sack him now.

Thanks Dani.  Richardson deserves everything he got.  This is certainly one interview I won't be listening to again.

Given the result, it has been a good match for a run-in to the SF and hopefully F. Certainly woke the crowd up, at last.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great result and good test for andy. Just made for a ridiculously painful watch.
