Wimbledon 2014 QF: Andy Murray vs Grigor Dimitrov

Reply

After squeezing through big serving South African Kevin Anderson in the fourth round, Andy will next do battle with 'Mr. Hot Shot' himself, Grigor Dimitrov who is in his second career Grand Slam quarter-final and looking imperious, losing two sets on his way to the quarters, with Murray yet to lose one. This is arguably the career year for Dimitrov, already winning three tournaments in Acapulco, Bucharest and at the Wimbledon warm up at the Queens Club a few weeks prior to this tournament. At one spot below his career high ranking of No. 12, Grigor is full of confidence and is pitted by many to be one of the major contenders outside of the Big 4 for the Wimbledon crown this year. Grigor is arguably one of the best players this year already and one for the future, possessing a very strong all round game and looking ready to beat the best of the best at Slams. This is a worrisome proposition for Murray so he will be looking to stay focused and on his game, ready to pounce on the Bulgarian whenever the chance presents itself.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two, with Murray leading the head to head 3-1, losing to Grigor in their last meeting in Acapulco on his way to the title there.

If Dimitrov beats Murray in the quarters, he'll pass the Scot in the rankings, vaulting himself into the top 10. Huge stakes.

They ain't saying anything about Dimi here.
It's times like these that I remember just how bad the Brit press/media are. Don't miss that.

Come on Andy! You are great! Wimbledon's king!

He seems so loved in these days, I see pictures of Wimbledon and I would like to be there, he seems very relaxed and comfortable at home. Such a good guy!

I think he will beat Dimitrov.

Is this game likely to be on first on Wednesday as the 2 QF from the bottom half may ask for more of a rest before playing. That would mean Andy would be playing at 1.00pm instead of the usual 4.00pm on QF day meaning that most of the UK will miss this match  shocking Rolling Eyes

I think that Andy will be back up for this one. Just do not want rain with a match on Centre Court covered.
