The crowd will probably be 50/50. Roger is adored at Wimbledon.

Definitely - when he played Fed in World Tour Finals at O2 half the crowd incredibly supported his royal smugness. Just hope the Andy boys have tickets - lets go Andy lets go!

Alex is posting in the Murray part of the website - it must be a grand slam. Very Happy

True. To be fair it's not all that easy to follow/watch tournaments in NZ that are not Grand Slams. As it happens, this match finished about 2 minutes before they had to cut to the Maori news, and they would have done so even the match was still going, so I'd never have been able to see a 5th set.

"Andy and Djok will battle it out for No.1" this would be loverly! Smile I would love to see these two on the podium at slams and trading places at 1 and 2 for a long time to come.

Please don't base your referendum vote on the opinions of tossers in a radio phone-in. Wink

No, just base it on the fact the the SNP have performed outstandingly since they came into power. Bagpipes

I wouldn't be that shallow honest!!

But it  does get on my wick, we are not an alien race we are Scottish.  Andy Murray is an amazing athlete, folk need to appreciate that.  I really hope Andy can do this on Sunday it would be amazing for him, his hard work deserves it.  Would it be wrong of me to wish that if he did it, he wrapped himself in a Saltire and shouted Freedom!!!

Absolutely brilliant. Had tears of joy at the end of that, only the 2nd time I can remember doing that in my life. Didn't think I'd get to see a British Wimbledon finalist in my lifetime. Think he'll probably get smashed in 3 by Federer again but you never know.

Really excited for this like everyone else. As long as I can remember I've always had these 4 big sporting dreams of things I hope to see in my lifetime and a British Wimbledon winner is 1 of them. For the record, 1 of them I've now experienced 3 times but the other 2 are about as far away now as they ever have been.

What are they, out of interest?

My sporting dreams are to see Andy win a Slam, Lewis win the WC (tick!) and Leeds return to the Premiership. All realistic ones for now (if/when these happen I can reassess lol). Hamilton winning the F1 was amazing, but wouldn't come close to Andy winning a Slam, let alone Wimbledon. If Andy could ever win Wimbledon it would be eclipse any sporting achievement I've seen in my life so far.

Your spot on. You said:

Have a bit of a feeling the top 4 will share the Slams next year they're all so equally matched and all well able to beat each other.  No-one else will get close so I'll say

Oz     Djok
RG     Rafa
Wim  Mr Smug    but very happy to be wrong here!
USO  Andy

Would be nice for Andy to get OZ then we can all relax and enjoy the ride even more than already.  Andy and Djok will battle it out for No.1 with Rafa 3rd
Ha Ha.  Andy's got some work to do to get to No.1 and will need a strong finish to the season but, remember Smugfed has a lot of points dropping off late on.

Yes Yes.  I actually do think this is going to happen over the next 12 months particularly if Andy can get his 1st Slam on Sunday.  Lots of pundits have said over recent months and years how he could easily go on to win many many more - just like did Mr Lendl.  I just have a bit of a funny feeling about Rafa and Smug is on the way out

England winning the Ashes - 3 ticks. In hindsight, given it's only 2 teams it was definitely going to happen at some point in my life but when you consider I grew up watching it in the 90s and early 2000s it was hard to imagine.
Arsenal winning the Champions League and England winning the World Cup.

The attitude of some English people sucks - tossers all of them.  95% of English people want the Scots to stay in the UK so please don't tick the box.  As an Englishman I hope Andy does celebrate as you suggest.  Plenty of room in the UK for regional and ethnic uniqueness.

Well, between the two of them they already have 26 slams, so it's not like they'd be denied their time in the sun. I just think it's time for Nole and now Andy too to win. They played 3rd and 4th fiddles for a l-o-n-g time, and Nole broke through last year. It's time for Andy to follow suit, and I really hope it happens Sunday. I actually think that somewhere both Rafa and Nole would be rooting for Andy - but just a hunch.

 cmon yeah

Yes, think you're right about Rafa and Nole.  It's not just us MW's that don't like Federer - don't think he has many (if any) friends on the Circuit - too much ego, aloofness and smugness.  Of course, there's respect for what he's achieved
