The world no 56 (and a clay-courter to boot) up first. Anything less than a 3 set win and the MW anger will resurface...

Really? Meh... I would hope by now that most of us recognise that Andy typically is far from his best at the start of a tournament but things change once a challenge is introduced.

It was slightly tongue in cheek. wink

Seriously though, the early rounds ought to be about quick wins and minimal court time.

Oh sorry... it actually sounded pretty realistic... Phil and James are always ready to pounce lol

Indeed and I think at grand slams Murray does do better in the earlier rounds than other tournaments.

Always finds a way to mug it up against clay courters, something like :

6-2 7-5 6-4

If Andy lost I would cry.....it just has to be straight sets!!  A dinnertime game under the roof sounds good to me!

Should be the perfect opener for Andy, if he does get on top I hope he uses the latter stages of the match to go on the attack and get some practise in (tactically) for the bigger challenges to come. I've got a feeling it will be a Murray v Federer final this year, I think both of those players are about to peak for the season, Novak and Rafa may show signs of tiredness at this one. Federer will stroll through his draw (unfortunately)! I reckon. Andy's toughest test in the first few rounds will be against a resurgent Gasquet, here's hoping that the draw opens up on Andy's side the way it did at the FO..I'll be following the progress of Cilic, Ljubicic, Gasquet, Wawrinka, Roddick etc with interest. Here's hoping there are some early casualties in that list!

I like what I'm reading about Andy's attitude going into Wimbledon this year.  I don't want to jinx things but am feeling quietly confident.  Don't think I'm going to be able to watch Mon or Wed.     Still can't complain having seen him at Queens.   cmonandy

I can't predict.  Lord help the one who does.  There are many Andys, and I just hope the positive one with his game face on shows up.  pray  To be fair the pressure he must be under in this tournament is immense.  No Slam under his belt and the discerning British public to please.  Oh man - I'd not like to be him.  no

Good on ya!  How does it feel, being fully qualified, bairn?  My girlie is tramping around Easterhouse with her own caseload at the minute.  Stories to be told...

Doesn't feel any different at all, except people expect more of you. And they forget just because you're qualified does not mean you know EVERYTHING. But things can only get better Smile
She must not have long to go now does she??

She finishes in August, and like you, still feels like a newbie.  Smile  So... Staff Nurse Anne - can you get me some drugs to watch Wimbly with?  I suspect I may need them.  Smile  And.... we're back on topic!
