Another MurrayCoaster. Unbearable to watch at times but Andy's quality shone through in the last one and a half sets.
However he was so tentative at all these break points up. He still so often waits for a mistake from his opponent and it could have cost him.
Baggy wasn't cheated. The match was finished when Andy went 2 breaks up. But credit to Baggy because he could easily have asked for a time-out for a non-existent injury and dragged the match into next week.
Its doubly good because Cilic has effectively played 2 consecutive 5 setters tonight. He must be absolutely knackered. What condition will he be in for Monday?

Our Andy is no drama queen---- but that match was pure theatre.Hitchcock could not have done it better!!!! Great show Andy I guess that you must be tired I know that I am exhausted just watching.

That's exaggerating it a bit. The last set was equivalent to about three sets. |

I predict, he will be gradually drained if the match goes on to 4 sets. The H2H is 5 -1 to Andy. Last played each other in 2009. Played twice on grass. |

This is a random request, but there is a youtube video somewhere of Andy when he was really young, it was a short under 2 mins BBC scotland news piece, shot in bridge of allan at the tennis club on a horrible clay court with a big puddle on it. I saw the new thing at the time and remember it, and I have seen it on the web before as well.
Does anyone know the link? I would be truly appreciative!!
Btw, speed tennis is fun, well as long as Andy wins!

What a match! Amazing finish, it makes such a difference with the roof on - such a lift in the atmosphere. Andy did very well to race against the clock and finish tonight.

True. But still 'only' 5 hours in total on court. Lot of quick service games I think, which doesn't quite account to two five-setters. Two 3/4 setters maybe. |
