Been crappy here too, Ally. Today was a great day, nearly all the snow and ice melted.

The poor wee kids needed ice-picks to find their easter eggs. Very Happy

I forgot you would get it bad - worse than us, we never see your weather on tv.  You will get a proper snowfall though, something that you can do fun things with and on a positive note, at least the egg hunt will have lasted for longer for the children!

No fun. We had a bit of a thaw, and it's hard for the kids to know the chocolate eggs from the doggie-doo.

Full supervision required for egg-hunters here. Very Happy

Not an option for me.  Doesn't go to/from my airport.  I'll stick to getting the train and tube.  Unlike most people, I actually enjoy using the tube.

Hey, I think the tube is one if the woinders of the world, got my own oyster card and everything. Love it!

All other undergrounds I've been on in Europe are much dirtier, shabbier, way smaller, and a longer wait for trains. Where I live I can walk most places in 45 minutes, but the tube is great. That stretch of the Jubilee line especially. When the extension was completed (well over ten years ago now), I spent a morning visiting the stations between London Bridge and Canary Wharf, as they are all interesting architecturally. I don't normally visit tube stations for their own sake Very Happy

Tube is great. I was a little worried using it after the 7/7 bombings especially as I a suffer from an illness which makes stuff like that even more scarey for me.

I will be using the tube every time I am in London this year, and I should probably get an Oyster card.

The Oyster card is great value as it is programmed to never charge you more in a day than a day travel card. You need the type that you just top up when you want - either at tube stations or you can even do it online - I was in London a few weeks ago and topped up here before I went. I had to say which underground station I'd 'pick up' my top up and when I went through the barrier at that station and swiped my oyster the updated balance flashed up. It makes life so much easier not having to stand in queues for ticket machines. Definitely recommend it if you are going to be in London more than once. I got mine cos I was going to Wimbledon and the Olympics and had every intention of going back this year. Being a woman of my word I've already been once to see a show, going to the O2 and crossing everything I can pick up Wimbledon tckets via my tennis club. Meant to say you can order your Oyster online and get it delivered to your home so you have it before you travel.

Brilliant. Well I'm first in London on April 22nd, so wondering if ordering it online the week before will be alright?

I'd be inclined to say yes, I'm sure mine arrived within 3 or 4 days but I'd check on the site to be on the safe side, see what delivery advice it has. Enjoy.
