WTF SF: Murray vs Federer

Quote

I just hope the crowd get behind Andy more than Fed, that's the one that's going to hurt me. It's so dam disrespectful and embarrassing.

Andy's never beaten Fed at the WTF in London, so time to redress that one.

Very funny expressions you've chosen there, Bev.
I imagine Andy is saying "Look out Roger, I'm coming to get you" whilst Federer looks in absolute agony!

I had a dream that Murray was playing Isner in the Semis.

Cool.

LOL even on mens tennis forum, Fed fans are thinking Andy will win Smile.
Some of them refer to Murray as 'Slamray'.

I can't work out if it's intended as a compliment or taking the piss that he's finally won a Slam.

I normally stay away from there due to the extreme hatred and nonsense opinions towards some players but it's certainly an interesting read. Most neutrals seem to favour Murray and the Federer fans are split between blind optimism and going with the form book.

Oh I notice a certain MW poster. wave

Hope to see a close-up of your knuckles on TV featuring our boy's name. yes

Im going to wear a white Andy Murray t-shirt!

Make sure you do Coldmarek, don't let the fed fans intimidate you so much you have to keep quiet. Oh, and take some bongos, I hear that worked in Paris to rile up the crowd.

All my family members and even my girlfriend support Federror. They suck lol

I do love how non-Federer fans make a good point, give a good explanation and every time, without fail, the Federer fans respond with:

"*laugh* Deluded."

"Clueless. *facepalm*"

Sums them up really.

It would be satisfying to see both!   I do think Andy (and the O2 crowd) felt a bit bad for Tsonga for playing so badly, and I'm sure that once he knew he was through, that held him back from being ruthless in the second set.  I don't think he'll have that problem today - although I'm sure there will be plenty of Fed fans in.

I like that Lendl is very up-front about not going into detail about tactics and which technical things they've been working on.  Otherwise, you'd be left believing that tennis really was all about confidence.  I accept confidence is important, but I think players like to talk about it as a diversion to talk about the nuts and bolts of their game.  The unfortunate fall-out is that some people act as if win is down to mental strength, and every loss is a mental break-down.
Good posting!

Not really interest in Fedface fans;sorry.  Sending Andy positive vibes, prayers, lots of luck, lucky heather.  Hope he maintains and improves his self confidence and belief in himself  and especially in his ability to beat Fedface who is still a snide with his 'nice' remarks.  He must also really p... the other payers off with his smarmy comments.

What I'm hoping for is that all of the wonky bits of Federer's recent game stay wonky, while Andy has got all of his wonky bits ironed out, and is channelling his form from the Olympics.  Seems reasonable. Smile

Well said Sparkle. We need more of that kind of technical talk around here!

That's really lovely of him-and he's been wearing the poppy all week in his post-match press conferences too (plus Kim's been wearing one at each match).Such a sweet, genuine guy.
