For now. I'm confused how he manged to get on the ATP circuit in the first place.  Whistle

Okun plays really well against him. Same as Blake against Nadal. :P

He's not playing that well. Boggo is playing poorly. And yes there is pressure, but there's no fight in him.

Arka, it gives me no pleasure at all to type this, but Boggo is complete cr*p. He looks like a frozen rabbit. If you want to be a tennis pro then flaming well put the work in.

no You had the talent Boggo, but I'm with John Lloyd on this one, he cant hack it. He has no mental strength.

This has been an awful match to watch. If Andy hadn't been here, this would have been the future of British tennis.

(Rather like it was..(men-wise) in my youth. The women won GS, the men never progressed beyond Round 2 with the notable exception of Roger Taylor who reached a semi at Wimbledon)

Rolling Eyes And people slate Teem. Sheesh, they should wake up and realise how damn good he's been. We've been spoilt.

Hopefully Andy will spoil us even more. Smile

Tim, Andy and Greg have erased just how abysmal we were in the male tennis talent stakes. It was horrible. I dont want to go back to those days, when we literally whooped with joy for every player who made the second round at Wimbledon.

But if our No 2 is Boggers then my heart sinks.

Israel serving at 4-1 up.

15-0 Ace

30-0 Ace

30-15 DF

*second serve*

40-15 Boggo nets the return.

Game Israel. Boggo nets.

The annoying thing is, he looks so insipid. I know Andy may swear and lose his temper, but at least you know he cares.

It takes a lot of talent to be ranked within the top 150 in the world. Frown

He will not be. Smile
Tim will not retire anytime soon I think. Baker or Dyce or Cox will hopefully take over from him by then.

I'm trying to talk about Boggo's crap tennis.. it's got nothing to do with James and Rafa. Anyway - they're in a different leauge compared to this lot.

I agree with hulahoop (except the Tim bit - im sorry. But i guess this isn't the place or time to be discussing that Wink) Okun isn't playing his best tennis. And it IS painful to watch. The only thing that gives us hope is Andy (no pressure) but he knows that this weekend is on his shoulders. It's a big thing to put on him, but i think this tie will give him a great experience but he needs to keep his feet on the ground concerning the pressure etc. As fans we need to scream and cheer. Israel serving for the match.

15-0 Boggos return goes long.

15-15 (my digibox cut out)

*second serve*

15-30 Forehand winner from Boggo. Bit late now though.

*second serve*

30-30 Boggo nets the easiest drop shot in the world. In the words of the commentators 'oooh dear'.

*second serve*

40-30 MATCH POINT. Boggo goes wide on a forehand down the line.

40-40 Okun nets. Nervous?

*net - first service*

Adv Israel. Boggo nets the return. MATCH POINT 2.

*second serve*

GSM Israel. Boggo goes wide.

Commentators - 'desperately disappointing' , not the performance we had hoped for, a match he should have won.

6-4, 7-5, 6-2 to Israel.

BRING ON ANDY.

*cough* *splutter*

Arka, face facts. He's an exceptional club player, a very good County Player, an OK Futures/Satellites players but an abysmal representative of his country.

We desperately need a viable No 2. Andy can do nothing (Davis Cup wise) on his own.

Where's the drive? Where's the passion?

Boggers is awful. He makes you want him to lose as he's so sure he's going to. A sort of "put him out of his misery asap" thing.

Frown Which is not the emotion I want when watching tennis at this level.

Once again very put Tally.  clap Couldn't have done any better myself.

IMO proffesional tennis is about learning the rules and applying them to play better than the other men out there who are hungry for the same thing. Boggo has NONE of that. He's not made for the top. And to even consider the possibility of him leading a Davis Cup team.  shocking That would make me VERY concerned. Okay, he's worked like hell to get to where he is but im affraid others have had more drive and passion to get further.

If you're relying on Cox, Arka. Well fair enough. I'm not complaining that there's a hope.. but it's evident that Andy's what we've got for a couple of years to go and we have to face it. He can't do it on his own and that's also a factor.
