I think so...you can get away from the media which can be a distraction. I imagine it obviously allows players to 'acclimatise' as there is rarely major tournies over here. Hopefully if she puts the work in, then we may see her in a few years time

I agree in that one of the main reasons why top British players train aboard (other than that the LTA are rubbish) is that there are very few ATP tournaments in England. Other than Wimbledon there are only Queens and Nottingham which all begin within a three week period. I know we host a grand slam but so do France and the US and they have many other top class tournaments, including masters events. I think this is one of the reasons why tennis doesn't command a bigger fan base in the UK.  |

Excellent.....hopefully we will have a female who will set the heather alight!!! that would be fab wouldn't it? like andy she trains abroad - good thing do you think? Britain is pathetic if you want to train for competative tennis. The facilities are awful. Thats why you ahve to travel abroad if you want to take your tennis seriously. Florida, Texas, Brazil and Spain are the most common places to train. So far i bin to Florida and Spain. Its a God send that there are places like that with such good facilities. Really Britain is the worst place to be! |

Excuse the spelling if I get the surname wrong, but Anne Keothavong is on the way back up, she's won a few tournaments recently, she was out for a few months due to injury but looks like getting her form back she used to be British No. 1 I think.

Excuse the spelling if I get the surname wrong, but Anne Keothavong is on the way back up, she's won a few tournaments recently, she was out for a few months due to injury but looks like getting her form back she used to be British No. 1 I think. i havent heard about anne much lately except last month she won a pretty big tournament in Nigeria and was a semi finalist with katie O Brien in doubles. Shell be a good one to watch out for. |
