Would be happy enough if Eaton could reach Karlovic heights with his serve, but thats surely his absolute limit...

If he reached those heights would you then be happy with the sub-forum's existence?

It IS a bit premature, but I think CE has the raw talent to make the top hundred if he gets the luck and the w/cs to make it into Challengers. He's only 20 after all.

I think he's got more talent in his little finger than Boggo has in his whole body. :p But that's only based on 2 matches!

Besides he's PHWOAR, ( a bit of a Mario Ancic lookalike) and that's reason enough to follow his progress in my book.

Very Happy

He is amazingly hot and I agree, much more talented than Boggo.

Not really.  He has a world-class serve, good volleys and a decent forehand.  Boggo has a good all-round game.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

You're having a laugh. He was completely outclassed against Tursunov (grass is a great leveller). He'd have been searching for points on clay (the true test of a pro). He'd have needed a microscope. He has a big serve and bugger-all else. He's top 200 material at best.

Wimbledon history is littered with lower-ranking Brits who've raised their game briefly (even getting as far as the 4th round) and disappeared back into obscurity, and he's one of them. Sad to say, Boggo has more talent in his little finger than Eaton has in his whole body.

See my previous post: 'Wimbledon history is littered with lower-ranking Brits who've raised their game briefly (even getting as far as the 4th round) and disappeared back into obscurity'

An example is Andrew Foster, played Sampras, 4th round, 1993. Similar game to Eaton. He probably served you in Pizza Hut tonight.

I remember that match vividly. Foster really got under Sampras's skin. Pete was cussing and swearing all the way through. At the end, he gave the crowd a piece of his mind. When the press asked what he'd said, he replied 'I said have a nice day. God bless you.'

Eaton 'could make Davis Cup team'

Britain's former Davis Cup coach Peter Lundgren says Wimbledon star Chris Eaton deserves to return to the All England Club for September's Cup tie.

The 20-year-old qualifier reached the second round on his Wimbledon debut and is in contention to play in the World Group play-off against Austria.

"If he carries on playing well then it would be good if he was in the team, why not?" Lundgren told BBC Sport.

"But it will be tough as he hasn't played anywhere except for Wimbledon."

"If he is able to get a few more results on the Challenger circuit then he will get more chances," said Lundgren.

"He plays offensively with serve and volley and I like that kind of tennis. He plays a little bit differently to the others, he's very nice and a good player."
