Amusing that Chris has decided to play a British Tour event (a national event without any ATP ranking points available) this week as opposed to a British Futures event (an international event with ATP ranking points available).

That indicates that either his confidence is very low or he is in need of some quick revenue or both !

wthell Chris got beat 7-6(1) 3-6 7-5 in the final by former pro Nick Lester (whos career high of 1220 was back in Febuary 2001)!

He was mentioned in the Times a few weeks ago:
Heres one up for the Fourth Estate. Nick Lester, a 32-year-old county stalwart for Hertfordshire, who commentates on both radio and television and plays three hours tennis a week, entered his first competitive tournament in eight years last week and made it into the semi finals of the AEGON British Tour in Corby, before losing to Sean Thornley in the semi's today in three sets.

Along the way , Lester defeated Jamie Feaver, son of former international John as well as Richard Gabb, one of the countrys noted teenagers. The point he made with both racket and in conversation is that this does not say a great deal about the depth of the mens game in Britain. Troubling indeed.

That is incredible.  Still Chris did well to get to the Final.  I hope he got a bit of money for his effort.

Oh it just gets better and better. We do **** at Davis Cup, a time when they need to start playing well and pricing that they're not all useless and what happens? Thank gawd for Bally! I still think my qualifying idea for Wimbledon would soon sort the boys from the men.

Allan Inglot/Eaton out... Very sad about this fact, I'm meant to be a good luck charm. And do you happen to know if either of them have a dark haired girlfriend (or sister I suppose) since when we watched them play 1st round we were stood with their parents and I was actually touching a dark haired supporter who gave off girlfriend vibes... yay

Yeah, after an excellent first set. Experience of the French pair got the better of them in the end and I guess Chris and Dom had a come down after their win on Saturday and the first set this afternoon.

Great tourney for them though. Wouldn't surprise me if they ended up having to concentrate on doubles over singles like Fleming has had to do.

It's quite interesting/ironic/helpful that as our singles players have really dipped, doubles specialists have become abundant! I'm getting confused with days, is there only one doubles rubber?
