My god since that semi in Zagreb, he's become a brilliant choke artist.

Dan isnt a choker hes a fighter. His problem is he is hot headed, which is sometimes his downfall.

He lost today from being a set and a break up. He lost in Marseille last week after having loads of break points in the second set against Stakhovsky, then becoming a non factor in the tiebreak and third set.

I'm not sure GM understands what 'choking' is in a sporting context.

Courage doesn't always roar - but wins Wimbledon

Dan's temperament isn't so far away from Andy's. The difference is that Andy has learned to control the frustration and use it.

The real issue for Dan is inconsistency. He can be brilliant, and when he is you can see how he could be a top 50 player. It's his concentration he needs to work on. He's got the ability to trouble a lot of players.

If Dan wan't to break the top 100 he has to start winning in these Challengers again.

Um, yes I do. It's where you blow a substantial lead in a match while looking firmly in control, you could choke the match away or lose the lead you've earnt but still win the match later.

Very, very much like a young Andy.  Hoping to see much more of him in the future.  I'll be gutted if there's no Brit to support when Andy has elected to hang up his racquet!

There's a lot of young Andy in him, except Dan is slightly more cocky.

I think there will be Brits to support, but I think we'll have to go some to get another like Andy. He's a one-off, completely unique. A Brit who wants to win, it's unheard of! Smile.

Not sure that I'd agree with 'A Brit who wants to win, is unheard of'.  I'm sure there are loads in lots of Sports who 'want' to win.  It's achieving it that's the difficult thing,.

I think that was irony, Elly. You're usually good at that!
