Thanks for the photos.

Where are the spectators ?  It can't be very motivating to play your heart out if there is hardly anyone there to encourage your wins.

I took the photos during the warm-up and as the previous match had finished 5 minutes earlier most people that were there were getting their lunch or away to the toilet.

According to the tournament's twitter feed Dan beat the 1st seed 4-6, 6-1, 6-4! But it could be wrong.....

That is great news Allan.  Let's hope that it is true.  I wonder what the first seed's ranking is ?

The top seed Brendan Evans, is currently at a career high of 133 so this is/would the highest ranked player Dan has won against! Very Happy

Thanks Allan.  This is looking good.  To win the second set 6-1 against a 133rd World ranked player shows lots of promise and potential.  Let's hope Dan can build on this.

Looks like Dan's reached the semis with a 6-2 6-4 victory over the 8th seed ranked 208. This should take Dan into the top 250 on Monday.  cmon yeah

Daniel Evans of England upended top-seeded and emotional Brendan Evans, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, on Thursday at the $100,000 USTA Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championships at the University of Kentucky's Kilar J. Boone Tennis Complex.

"He's good, but I started slowly," Daniel Evans said of his opponent, who directed derogatory comments at him and the chair umpire during the match, which concluded with a heated exchange between the players. "I fight hard all the time, and today (Brendan) wasn't good enough to beat me."
Good opld Dan and his temper. lol It's from here.

Thanks Allan.  It is impressive to beat the 208th ranked player in two easy sets.  At this rate, Dan's level should rise to around 150 if not better.  Let's hope Dan makes the most of this run and win the tournament to leap into the top 200's (finger's crossed).

A tornament win would move Dan up to about 215
