Davis Cup tie away to Lithuania - March 2010

I received an email from the BBC, today, saying not only are they not showing the whole DC tie next weekend on the BBC, but they are also not showing it on their "Red Button" channel on Freeview.  Yet, I could have sworn I've read in the past they would show extensive coverage of it.  I know it's because Andy's not playing, but surely they should give a darn about their viewers.  I personally wouldn't have minded watching it.   I went to Glasgow, last year, to watch the tie.  Andy wasn't there and I believe they still showed it.

... infact if there's wireless inside the arena I may attempt a BBC Sport Online "live text commentary" on here, as a bit of an experiment..

The first day will be critical. If we can get to 1-1 at the end of the first day and win the doubles on Saturday then we have a good chance.

The entire team is U20, which will provide an interesting dynamic.

Hopefully Grigelis took inspiration from how Murray performed at 18 and cramps up when pushed, because that's just about the only chance we've got of winning 3 rubbers.

"Britain should fear in-form Ricardas Berankis" - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/tennis/article7026998.ece

Also, unless there's a Brit or two lurking out there who likes tennis, there'll be no home supporters.  As for the Beeb, I think it would have given our lads a considerable boost if they knew folk back home could watch them play.  Pretty poor, imo.

I think we can pull it off - but ... nervous

G-R-O-A-N!  Now we know why they turn up with a six-man team.  I know Baker wasn't named in Lloyd's four-man team last month, but things could have changed since then.  He's a gutsy, solid player, and the best of the bunch for the singles as far as I'm concerned.  Don't know about Ward, but I'm not happy about Evans after his performance against Poland.
