Frown Awwww that was a shame, but huge applause to Jamie Delgado. He played way above himself.

I think he should be very proud of himself this weekend. Now can we just find him a decent doubles partner apart from Andy. (He's needed for singles)/

That match was fab. Really exciting and despite the result, a fair cop.

So GB. Off to Kiev come September. Frown  Wonder if we can win that?

Though looking at their players and their rankings, am I the only one never to have heard of any of them?

 confused Their top players:

Such a shame for Delgado, he deserved that so much. Really feel for him. He can be very proud of himself!

You've seen Stakhovsky? He plays in Britain quite often.

Anyway, Bubka is pretty promising.
In case someone is wondering, yes, he is the son of the famous pole vaulter of the same name. Very Happy

Yup. On BCCi right now. Had to walk the dog otherwise I'd have replied sooner.

Mackin's just taken the 1st set 6-2 . But he isn't playing Andy Ram, so dont get too excited. His opponent looks as if he's never seen a grass court before.

I think the audience pay a lot of respect to Jamie.. yesterday there were more people shouting C'mon Jamie than C'mon Andy which really suprised me - but it was very obvious there.  Think

Unfortunate for Jamie! Frown He is indeed a better doubles player.. but im very glad for him because his game yesterday was very good. The only weakness is the serve but it managed to stick up when they really needed it to.  clap

As for Mackin. Very Happy Well i saw some of the match and looked like he was on fire out there!!!  clap Saw him practising on the courts yesterday as well - he's got very stable backhands and forehands.  clap

Scotland's Alan Mackin beat Israel's Dekel Valtzer 6-2 6-1 in the dead rubber to give close the overall score of the match to 3-2.

Frown Feel sorry for Annie though. It is today she's gone isn't it?

Frown Yup - i was soooo dissapointed when i got to the venue and the board thing said Jamie Delgado was playing, instead of Andy!

But anyway, i still had a wicked time!! Watching tennis live is soooo much better than on TV.... Smile We were planning on going at about 6am..... to drive to Brighton for the morning, and spend a few hours there ('cause it's like my favourite place in the world!) but my friend was being lazy and couldn't be bothered to wake up... so eventually we left at 8-ish, and decided not to go to Brighton. But, a journey that should have taken us 2 hours.... managed to take us about 4..... thanks to my *fantastic* navigating. Whistle Anyways, we got there.... and hung around a bit. Then we went to the stadium, just before 1. And then we saw that Andy wasn't playing..... i was quite upset.  Whistle So then we sat down..... and the first person i saw was Judy - and i was like 'WOW there's Judy!!!!' really loud... slightly embarrasing.....  Whistle And we tried to take loads of pictures.... but it was hard 'cause we were in the East stand - the stand opposite to where the players and people were. Frown

Just as the players started the warm up - i spotted Andy!!!! At this point he was wearing a dark cap, and a neck brace sadly Frown So yeh, the match started.... it was sooo cool!! Even though Jamie didn't start to well  Think  After about 10 mins andy took the neck brace off....  Think It was quite funny....  early on in the second set, it was a big point or something, i think.... and Andy started like signalling to the photographers. I was trying to work out what he was saying.... but i think it was something like 'take a picture of Okun, to distract him!' or something of the sort... roflmao Hehe... and Jamie won the next point lol! Anyway the third and fourth sets were much better from Jamie.... the atmosphere was amazing when he won the fourth!!! It was dissapointing when he didn't win.... but i was generally impressed with him - he played well, a lot better than i had thought he would!!

Then, quite a few people went home after the match..... so the stadium was a bit emptier, and obviously a lot quiter! Wink Alan's match was.... quick!!! And i was really impressed with his play!! He did really well! Although.... i was a bit confused when Andy walked out with him, and sat with him at the beginning of the match instead of Bates.... i didn't know they could do that!

So, all in all.... it was amazing!! Dissapointing that i didn't get to see Andy play.... or GB win! Frown But it was great....! The weather was sooo hot though! shocking But it was definitely all worth a long drive!

We had a few pictures.... but we weren't very good at the whole taking pictures thing.... Whistle I just need to work out how to upload them and stuff... then i'll post them!!

Btw, sorry if this doesn't make sense.... kinda rambling slightly Neutral
